Purpose: The most important disadvantage of ceramic materials used in dentistry is their low fracture strenght. Today, new all ceramic CAD/CAM blocks are into the market which have improved mechanical properties. This study aims to investigate comparatively the fracture strength of crown prosthesis which are prepared by recently developed CAD/CAM blocks and conventional CAD/CAM blocks. Material and Method:80 pieces of extracted human premolar teeth were prepared on CNC counter. The prepared teeth were divided into groups consisting of 10 specimens and crown prosthesis were prepared by 8 different CAD/CAM blocks (Cerec Bloc, Cerec Bloc PC, IPS Empress CAD, IPS e.max CAD, Rosetta, Vita Suprinity, Vita Enamic, Lava Ultimate). Crown prosthesis are cemented on prepared teeth with resin cement. Samples are subject to fracture strength test with a 0,5 mm/sec load speed by universal test device Zwick Roell Z050. Fractured samples are grouped according to Burke classification fracture types. Most frequently observed fracture type of each group is examined under scanning electron microscope (SEM). Results are statistically analyzed by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Turkey HSD test.Results:The statistical analysis revealed that the highest fracture strength values were observed in Vita Suprinity, IPS e.max CAD and Rosetta groups. Nevertheless, there has been statistically no significant difference between these 3 groups and they have statistically higher values compared to other groups. There is no significant difference was observed between Lava Ultimate and IPS Empress CAD groups. It has been found that these two groups have significantly higher values compared to Cerec Bloc, Cerec Bloc PC and Vita Enamic groups. There is no statistically significant difference was observed between Cerec Bloc, Cerec Block PC and Vita Enamic.

Amaç:Diş hekimliğinde kullanılan seramik materyallerin en büyük dezavantajı kırılma dayanımlarının düşük olmasıdır. Günümüzde mekanik özellikleri geliştirilmiş, yeni tam seramik CAD/CAM bloklar piyasaya sürülmüştür. Bu çalışmanın amacı yeni geliştirilen CAD/CAM bloklar ile geleneksel CAD/CAM bloklardan hazırlanan kuron protezlerinin kırılma dayanımının karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmesidir.Gereç ve Yöntem:80 adet çekilmiş insan küçük azı dişi CNC torna tezgahında standart olarak prepare edildi. Prepare edilen dişler 10'ar örnekten oluşan gruplara ayrılarak, 8 farklı CAD/CAM bloktan (Cerec Bloc, Cerec Bloc PC, IPS Empress CAD, IPS e.max CAD, Rosetta, Vita Suprinity, Vita Enamic, Lava Ultimate) kuron protezleri hazırlandı. Kuron protezleri prepare edilen dişler üzerine reçine siman ile simante edildi. Örnekler Universal test cihazı Zwick Roell Z050 ile 0,5 mm/dk yükleme hızıyla kırılma testine tabi tutuldu. Kırılan örnekler Burke sınıflaması kırık tiplerine göre gruplandı. Her grup için en sık görülen kırık tipi taramalı elektron mikrokobunda (SEM) incelendi. Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel olarak tek yönlü varyans analizi ve Tukey HSD testi ile değerlendirildi.Bulgular:Çalışmamızda elde edilen sonuçlara göre en yüksek kırılma dayanımı değerleri Vita Suprinity, IPS e.max CAD ve Rosetta gruplarında bulunmuştur. Bu 3 grup arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunamazken, kırılma dayanımı değerleri diğer gruplardan anlamlı derecede yüksektir. Lava Ultimate ve IPS Empress CAD arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunamazken, bu 2 grup; Cerec Bloc, Cerec Bloc PC ve Vita Enamic gruplarından anlamlı derecede yüksek bulunmuştur. Cerec Bloc, Cerec Bloc PC ve Vita Enamic arasında ise istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır.
