In construction sector, one of the main trade areas of Turkey, starting and ending of a specific work might last more than a calendar year. In this situation, it is an exception to periodicity concept of accountancy and thus a particular taxation regime is used for such kind of business.The points that when and how incomes, costs and expenses of different taxation periods of the same long-term work in construction and contracting companies are accounted and when the taxation is carried out are important. To assign tax assessment, total costs and revenue must be determined. And the determination is possible only by the ending date of work. In other words, although income and expense of the work is in different years, profit or loss is accounted in the ending year of the work and declared in that year?s bill. Clauses in legal books both during and after the work need a particular knowledge of accountancy for the businesses.In the thesis, it is studied that how income is set and how taxation and accounting records are carried out in construction, contracting and repair works.

Ülkemizde çok önemli bir yere sahip inşaat sektöründe, bir işin başlaması ve bitişi birden fazla takvim yılına yayılabilmektedir. Bu durum muhasebedeki dönemsellik ilkesinin bir istisnasını oluşturmakta, dolayısıyla da ülkemizde bu türden işlerin vergilendirilmesi için özel bir vergileme rejimi uygulanmaktadır.İnşaat taahhüt işletmelerinde yıllara yaygın olarak gerçekleştirilen aynı işe ait ancak farklı vergileme dönemlerinde doğan gelir, maliyet ve gider unsurlarının ne zaman ve nasıl muhasebeleştirileceği, vergilemenin ne zaman yapılacağı hususları önem arz etmektedir. Vergilenecek matrahın bulunması için toplam maliyetlerin ve bu işlerden elde edilen toplam hâsılatın belli olması gerekmektedir. Bu da işin bitim tarihi itibariyle mümkün olmaktadır. Yani işle ilgili gelir ve gider farklı yıllara ait olsa da, kar veya zarar kesin olarak işin bittiği yıl tespit edilmekte ve o yıl beyannamesinde beyan edilmektedir. Hem iş devam ederken, hem de iş bitiminde yasal defterlere yapılacak kayıtlar, işletmeler açısından bu işlere özgü ayrı bir muhasebe bilgisi gerektirmektedir.Bu çalışmada yıllara yaygın inşaat, taahhüt ve onarım işlerinde kazancın nasıl belirlendiği, vergilendirmenin ve muhasebe kayıtlarının ne şekilde yürütüldüğü ortaya konulmaktadır.
