The purpose of this study is to inform science and technology teachers about cooperative learning model, to investigate the effect of Cooperative Subject Jigsaw, Cooperative Reading-Writing-Application (RWA) and teacher centered instruction on students? academic achievement in Science and Technology course. The sample of the study consists of 51 Science and Technology Teachers who work in Muş and 305 students who study at 6th, 7th and 8th grade of the six elementary schools in this city. For the study, a 36 hour workshop was carried out with Science and Technology teachers on cooperative learning model. Following the workshop 6 teachers were selected to carry out the model at the schools. These teachers presented one unit in their classes using the related methods for the lessons. Instruments used for the research are; scales for the teachers about cooperative learning model before and after the workshop, and Pre-Achievement Tests, Achievement Tests and Attitude Scales for the students. The study was carried out with three groups for each classroom level. The techniques used in the study are; Subject Jigsaw for the first group, RWA for the second group and Teacher Centered Instruction for the third group. For the analysis of the obtained data, descriptive statistics and one way variance analysis (ANOVA) are used. Finally, it was found out that workshop contributed great benefit to both theoretical and practical learning of teachers. Also it was found that Subject Jigsaw and RWA have similar effects on students? academic achievement and students instructed with these techniques are more successful than students instructed with teacher centered instruction.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Muş?ta görev yapan Fen ve Teknoloji Öğretmenlerinin İşbirlikli Öğrenme Modeli hakkında bilgilendirilmesi, öğrencilerin Fen ve Teknoloji dersindeki akademik başarılarına İşbirlikli Konu Birleştirme, İşbirlikli Okuma-Yazma-Sunma (OYU) ve Öğretmen Merkezli yöntemin etkisini incelemektir.Çalışmanın örneklemini, Muş?ta görev yapan 51 Fen ve Teknoloji Öğretmeni ve bu ildeki altı ortaokulun; 6., 7. ve 8. sınıflarında öğrenim gören 305 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada Fen ve Teknoloji öğretmenlerine İşbirlikli Öğrenme Modeli ile ilgili 36 saat uygulamalı kurs verildi. Kurs sonrasında okullardaki uygulamaları gerçekleştirmek için 6 öğretmen seçildi. Bu öğretmenler sınıflarında ilgili yöntemleri kullanarak derslerinde bir üniteyi işlediler. Araştırmada; öğretmenler için işbirlikli öğrenme modeli hakkında çalıştay öncesi ve çalıştay sonrası ölçekleri, öğrenciler için Ön Başarı Testleri, Akademik Başarı Testleri ve Görüş Ölçekleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışma her sınıf düzeyi için üç farklı grupta gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu grupların ilkinde Konu Birleştirme, ikincisinde OYU ve üçüncüsünde geleneksel öğretim yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi için tanımlayıcı istatistikler ve tek yönlü varyans analizleri (ANOVA) yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak; çalıştayın öğretmenlerin işbirlikli öğrenme modelini hem teorik olarak hem de pratik olarak öğrenmelerine büyük katkı sağladığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca Konu Birleştirme ve OYU yöntemlerinin öğrencilerin akademik başarıları üzerindeki etkisinin birbirine yakın olduğu ve bu öğrencilerin geleneksel yöntemle öğretim alan öğrencilere göre daha başarılı oldukları tespit edilmiştir.
