The ability to perform a successful endodontic treatment is directly related to the sealing and clogging effect of the filling system consisting of gutta-percha and root canal sealer. One of the most sought-after properties of root canal sealers since gutta-percha can not bind to the dentin surface is that it can be firmly bonded to both dentine and gutta-percha. MTA Fillapex and Well Root ST are developed for this purpose. In our study, 36 maxillar single rooted permanent incisor teeth were used. For the purpose of standardization, the crowns of the teeth were removed with a diamond separating disc as the length of each root sample was 13 mm. In each sample, the root canals were manually prepared by step-back technique using K file files 10, 15, and 20. Afterwards, canal preparation was completed with Protaper Nickel Titanium rotary instruments. Cold lateral condensation technique was preferred as root canal filling method. In each group, gutta-perka cones number 50 with a 0.02 conical angle were used as the main cone and 15-25 gutta-perka cones as auxiliary cones. 36 specimens were randomly divided into three groups with equal numbers and only one of the AH Plus, MTA Fillapex and Well Root ST root canal sealers was used in each group. The samples were then sent to the research laboratory to examine the interfacial voids that occurred in the canals with micro computed tomography. No statistically significant difference was found between the groups at the end of our study. When different root levels in each group were examined, the difference between the apical and coronal third (p = 0.013) in the MTA Fillapex group and apical to coronal triplet (p = 0.024) in the Well Root ST group was found significant. Clinical success of AH Plus has been shown in many different studies, MTA Fillapex and Well Root ST have smilar coverage with AH Plus. Long term follow-up clinical trials supporting our outcome are needed.

Başarılı bir endodontik tedavinin gerçekleştirilebilmesi, güta-perka ve kök kanal patından oluşan dolgu sisteminin örtücülük ve tıkama etkinliği ile doğrudan ilişkilidir. Güta-perka dentin yüzeyine bağlanamadığından kanal patlarında en çok aranılan özelliklerden biri hem dentine hem de güta-perkaya sıkıca bağlanabilmesidir. MTA Fillapex ve Well Root ST bu amaçla geliştirilmiş kanal dolgu patlarındandır. Çalışmamızda 36 adet üst çene tek köklü daimi keser diş kullanılmıştır. Standardizasyon amacıyla her bir kök örneğinin uzunluğu 13 mm olacak şekilde dişlerin kron kısmı elmas separe frez ile uzaklaştırılmıştır. Her bir örnekte kök kanalları 10, 15 ve 20 numaralı K file eğeler kullanılarak step-back tekniği ile manuel olarak genişletilmiştir. Daha sonra Protaper Nikel Titanyum döner aletler ile kanal preparasyonları tamamlanmıştır. Kanal dolum yöntemi olarak soğuk lateral kondenzasyon tekniği tercih edilmiş ve her grupta ortak olarak 0.02 konik açılı 50 numaralı güta-perka konlar ana kon, 15-25 nolu güta-perka konlar ise yardımcı kon olarak kullanılmıştır. Hazırlanan 36 örnek eşit sayıda olmak üzere rastgele üç gruba ayrılmış ve her bir grupta AH Plus, MTA Fillapex ve Well Root ST kök kanal patlarından sadece bir tanesi kullanılmıştır. Örnekler daha sonra mikro bilgisayarlı tomografi ile kanallarda ortaya çıkan ara yüzey boşluklarını incelemek üzere araştırma laboratuarına gönderilmiştir. Çalışmamızın sonucunda gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Her grupta farklı kök seviyeleri incelendiğinde MTA Fillapex grubunda apikal ile koronal üçlü arasındaki (p=0.013) ve Well Root ST grubunda apikal ile koronal üçlü arasındaki (p=0.024) fark anlamlı bulunmuştur. AH Plus gibi klinik başarısı pek çok farklı çalışmada gösterilmiş olan bir pat ile benzer düzeyde örtücülük gösteren MTA Fillapex ve Well Root ST patlarının, AH Plus'a alternatif olabileceği düşünülmektedir. Çalışma sonuçlarımızı destekleyen uzun dönem takipli klinik çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.
