In this study, speed control of Double Sided Linear Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (DSLPMSM) was investigated experimentally with Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). A variable frequency drive was used for this control. Motor speed control was performed by changing the drive frequency with an ANN.First in this thesis, general information about Linear Motors (LM) were given. The mathematical expressions, winding techniques, the used permanent magnet properties and the control methods used until today were given. For the experimental work, structural details of designed DSLPMSM were described. It was focused on the construction of the primary and secondary side of the motor. The control program and the interface were prepared with C# software. Speed control study of motor was performed with variable frequency drives. After that, the impact of permanent magnet in the secondary side of motor on control achievements was investigated. For these studies, experimental and simulation results were carried out. Finally, speed control studies of motor were conducted with ANN. In the ANN structure, multi-layer, feed-forward neural network, back-propagation learning algorithm and supervised learning method were used. Two different training sets were prepared for this method. The first training set according to road and time information, the second training set according to speed and time information was generated randomly. Here, the frequency needed to reach the desired speed is calculated in the background of two training sets and according to the knowledge of the instantaneous frequency obtained from the motor drive. ANN carries out the motor speed control by increasing or decreasing the frequency. At the end of the study, the experimental results for different speeds were discussed.

Bu çalışmada, Çift Yanlı Doğrusal Hareketli Sürekli Mıknatıslı Senkron Motorun (ÇYDHSMSM) Yapay Sinir Ağları (YSA) ile hız denetimi deneysel olarak araştırıldı. Bu denetim için değişken frekanslı bir motor sürücüsü kullanıldı. YSA ile sürücü frekans değeri değiştirilerek motorun hız denetimi gerçekleştirildi.Tezde öncelikle Doğrusal Hareketli Motorlar (DHM) hakkında genel bilgiler verildi. Bu motorların matematiksel ifadelerine, sarım tekniklerine, kullanılan sürekli mıknatıs özelliklerine, günümüze kadar kullanılan denetim yöntemlerine yer verildi. Deneysel çalışmalar için incelenecek ÇYDHSMSM'nin yapısal ayrıntıları açıklandı. Motora ait Birincil Yan ve İkincil Yan yapım aşamaları üzerinde duruldu. C# yazılımıyla denetim programı ve arayüzü hazırlandı. Değişken frekanslı sürücü ile motorun hız denetim çalışmaları yapıldı. Daha sonra motorun İkincil Yan kısmında bulunan sürekli mıknatısların denetim başarısına etkisi araştırıldı. Bu çalışmalar için deneysel ve benzetim çalışma sonuçları verildi.Son olarak, motorun YSA ile hız denetim çalışmaları yapıldı. YSA yapısında, çok katmanlı ileri beslemeli yapay sinir ağı, geri yayılımlı öğrenme algoritması ve danışmanlı öğrenme metodu kullanıldı. Bu yöntem için iki farklı eğitim seti hazırlandı. Birinci eğitim seti yol ve zaman bilgilerine göre, ikinci eğitim seti hız ve zaman bilgilerine göre rastgele oluşturuldu. Burada, iki eğitim setinin arka planında istenen hıza ulaşmak için gereken frekans değeri hesaplanmaktadır ve motor sürücüsünden alınan anlık frekans bilgisine göre YSA frekans değerini arttırıp azaltarak motorun hız denetimini gerçekleştirmektedir. Çalışmanın sonunda farklı hızlar için yapılan deney sonuçları tartışılmıştır.
