In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of practical activities about environment on students' who are 8th grade students in secondary school environmental attitudes, environmental behaviour and environmental problems and its effect on their solutions proposed for these problems. This study was conducted with 46 students at the 8th grade level in a secondary school where located in Gümüşova District of Düzce. Experimental design with protest- posttest control group which is formed by using semi- experimental designs was applied in the research. In the semester of the 2016-2017 academic year, environmental education in which practical environmental activities by researcher during 7 weeks were given to the experimental group students. The control group students have given environmental education with active participation of student in which the contents of environment. For the data collection purpose environmental attitude scale, environmental questionnaire, question form about environment problems and personal information form were used. During the analysis of quantitative data, Independent Samples t-test and Dependent Samples t- test were applied in two stages in behaviour scale and attitude scale. Thus, the relation between the total scores of pretest and posttest of the groups were examined. Content analysis was used for interpret qualitative data. In accordance with obtained results, control group and experimental group showed an increase in environmental attitude and environmental behaviour scores. A statistically significant difference was found between control and experimental groups' environmental attitude and environmental behaviour pretest and posttest scores. On the other hand there was no statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores of the environmental attitude of the experimental group. When the qualitative findings were examined, it was seen that both experimental group and control group had positive effect in defining environmental problems and being aware of environmental problems and they also developed positive attitudes towards the solution of environmental problems and gained beneficial behaviours. It was also seen that practical activities related to environment had a facilitating effect on the experimental group students' ideas on solution of environmental problems. As a result, it has been seen that the lessons carried out for environmental education give sensitivity to environmental issues in the control group and the experimental group and the lessons which were carried out with the practical activities can also make a great contribution in improving the environmental awareness and environmental literacy of the students.

Bu çalışmada, çevre ile ilgili yürütülen uygulamalı etkinliklerin ortaokul 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin çevresel tutum, çevresel davranış, çevre sorunlarını tanımlama ve bu sorunlara yönelik geliştirdikleri çözüm önerilerine etkisini ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma Düzce İli'nin Gümüşova İlçe'sinde bulunan ortaokulda 8. sınıf seviyesindeki 46 öğrenci ile birlikte yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada yarı deneysel desenden yararlanılarak oluşturulan ön test – son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen uygulanmıştır. 2016 - 2017 eğitim- öğretim yılının ilk döneminde deney grubu öğrencilerine çevreyle ilgili uygulamalı etkinliklerin yer aldığı 7 haftalık çevre eğitimi verilmiştir. Kontrol grubu öğrencilerine çevre ile ilgili konuların yer aldığı ders içeriğinin öğrencilerin aktif katılımıyla yürütüldüğü çevre eğitimi verilmiştir. Veri toplama amacıyla; çevreye yönelik tutum ölçeği, çevre davranış ölçeği, çevre sorunlarına ilişkin soru formu ve kişisel bilgiler formu kullanılmıştır. Nicel verilerin analizinde davranış ölçeğinde ve tutum ölçeğinde iki aşamada bağımsız(ilişkisiz) örneklemler t- testi ve bağımlı(ilişkili) örneklemler t-testi uygulanmıştır. Böylece grupların ön test ve son test toplam puanları arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiştir. Nitel verilerin yorumlanmasında içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda kontrol grubu ve deney grubu öğrencilerinin çevresel tutum ve çevresel davranış puanlarında artış gösterdiği görülmüştür. Kontrol grubunun çevresel tutum ve çevresel davranış ön test- son test puanları arasında, deney grubunun çevresel davranış ön test- son test puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur.Deney grubu çevresel tutum ön test- son test puanları arasında ise istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Nitel bulgular incelendiğinde hem deney grubu hem kontrol grubu öğrencilerinde çevre sorunlarını tanımlama, çevre sorunlarının farkına varabilmede olumlu yönde bir etkinin oluştuğu ve öğrencilerin çevre sorunlarının çözümüne yönelik olumlu tutum geliştirdikleri ve yararlı davranışlar kazandıkları görülmüştür. Ayrıca çevreye yönelik uygulamalı etkinliklerin deney grubu öğrencilerinde çevre sorunlarının çözümüne ilişkin fikir yürütmelerinde kolaylaştırıcı etkisinin olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak çevre eğitimine yönelik olarak yürütülen derslerin kontrol grubu ve deney grubu öğrencilerinde çevresel konulara ilişkin duyarlılık kazandırdığı, ayrıca derslerde yer alan etkinliklerin öğrencilerde çevre bilinci oluşturma, çevreye yönelik olumlu davranış geliştirme ve çevre okuryazarı birey niteliği kazanabilmelerinde katkısının olabileceği görülmüştür.
