This study was carried out for the purpose of 'Examination of Self-Efficacy of High School Students in the Prevention of Drug Addiction' . The sample of the study is composed of 9, 10, 11 and 12th grade students in the district of Esenyurt, Istanbul. A total of 421 students participated in the study. Socio-demographic Data Form and Self-efficacy Scale for Substance Abuse were limited to obtain data from the students in the study. The study is descriptive.According to the results; although there was no statistically significant difference between the participants' gender and the class level, the self-efficacy levels of the girls and 12th grade students were higher than the others. At the same time, there were no statistically significant differences in the status of their parents' co-existence and psychiatric disorders in their families. However, it was concluded that the self-efficacy levels of the participants who live with their family and have no psychiatric illness are higher than the others. In the responses to the scale control question, it was found that the self-efficacy levels of the participants were weak. As a result of the study, it is seen that studies are needed to strengthen the self-efficacy of high school students in the prevention of substance abuse.Key Words: drug, substance, addiction, substance abuse, self-efficacy.

Bu çalışma 'Ortaöğretim Öğrencilerinin Madde Bağımlılığından Korunmada Öz Yeterliklerinin İncelenmesi' amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul ili, Esenyurt ilçesinde bulunan ortaöğretim 9, 10, 11 ve 12. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmaya toplam 421 öğrenci katılmıştır. Çalışmada yer alan öğrencilerden veri elde etmek için Sosyo-demografik Veri Formu ve Madde Bağımlılığından Korunmada Öz Yeterlik Ölçeği sınırlandırılarak kullanılmıştır. Çalışma betimsel bir araştırmadır.Bulgu sonuçlarına göre; katılımcıların cinsiyet, devam etmekte olduğu sınıf derecesine göre değerlendirildiğinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık görülmese de kız öğrencilerin ve 12. Sınıf öğrencilerinin öz yeterlik düzeyleri diğerlerine göre daha yüksek çıktığı görülmüştür. Aynı zamanda anne- baba birlikte yaşama durumu ve ailede psikiyatrik hastalık olma durumları da incelendiğinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmamış ancak ailesi birlikte yaşayan ve psikiyatrik hastalık bulunmayan katılımcıların öz yeterlik düzeylerinin diğerlerine göre yüksek çıktığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ölçekte kontrol sorusuna verilen yanıtlarda, katılımcıların öz yeterlik düzeylerinin zayıf olduğu bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin madde bağımlılığından korunmada, öz yeterliklerinin güçlendirilmesine yönelik çalışmaların yapılmasına gereksinim duyulduğu görülmüştür.
