In this thesis study, new solid phases are synthesized by modified silica gel and carbon nanotubes used as solid phase for the enrichment and speciation methods. Enrichment and speciation conditions were investigated for some trace elements by using these synthesized substances, new methods were developed and this method was applied to various water and food samples. Real samples were solved by microwave digestion method. Trace elements were determined by flame or graphite furnace AAS. Firstly in the solid phase extraction method, vanadium speciation was performed by using silica gel modified with 2,6-diamino-4-fenil-1,3,5-triazin as solid phase. Devoloped solid phase extraction method was applied to determine the total amount of vanadium after the vanadium (IV) was oxidized to vanadium (V) with KMnO4. Vanadium (IV) was calculated by subtracting the total amount of vanadium then the amount of vanadium(V). The amount of vanadium were analyzed by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS). Analytical parameters such as the pH, the type and concentration of the eluent, the amount of solid phase, sample volume, sample and eluent flow rate and matrix ions were invertigated for the quantitative recoveries of vanadium ions. Accuracy of the method was tested with SRM 1573a tomato leaves and GBW 07605 tea standart reference materials. The method was applied to various food and natural water samples. In the second part of the study, developing a new solid phase extraction method by using carbon nanotubes modified with 1-phenyl thiosemicarbazide as solid phase was made As enrichment. Determination of As ions were made with GFAAS. Analytical parameters for optimum recoveries of As ions, such as the pH, the type and concentration of the eluent, the amount of solid phase, sample volüme, sample and eluent flow rate and matrix ions were invertigated. The method was applied to some natural water and various food samples after it was tested by applied to some standart reference material (SRM 1515 apple leaves and GBW 07605 tea). In the third and last part of the study, using carbon silica gel (SG-SKZ) modified with 1-phenyl thiosemicarbazide the multiple metal enrichment containing lead, cadmium, chromium, nickel, cobalt, copper and manganese was made. Measurements were made with flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). Various parameters such as the pH, the type and concentration of the eluent, the amount of solid phase, sample volume, sample and eluent flow rate and matrix ions were evaluated and optimized. Accuracy of the developed method was tested by applied to NIST SRM 2711 Montana leaves and SRM 1515 apple leaves standart reference materials. The method was applied to various water and food samples.

Bu tez çalışmasında, zenginleştirme ve türleme metotlarında katı faz olarak kullanılan silika jel ve karbon nanotüp modifiye edilerek yeni katı fazlar sentezlendi. Sentezlenen bu maddeler kullanılarak bazı eser elementler için zenginleşme ve türlendirme şartları araştırılıp, yeni metotlar geliştirildi ve geliştirilen bu yöntemler çeşitli su ve gıda örneklerine uygulandı. Ölçümler alevli atomik absorpsiyon spektrometresi (FAAS) ile yapıldı. Katı faz ekstraksiyon yöntemini etkileyen pH, eluent cinsi ve derişimi, katı faz miktarı, örnek hacmi, örnek ve eluent akış hızı ve matriks iyonları gibi parametreler optimize edildi. Geliştirilen yöntem NIST SRM 2711 Montana toprağı ve SRM 1515 elma yaprağı standart referans maddelerine uygulanarak doğruluğu test edildi. Yöntem su ve çeşitli gıda örneklerine uygulandı.
