In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the disease self-management and to develop type 2 diabetes self-management scale in people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. The study is a methodological research. The study included 572 patients with type 2 diabetes who applied to the GÜTF Diabetes and Obesity Clinic and 339 patients with type 2 diabetes who applied to some ASMs affiliated to Sincan, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı and Yenimahalle district health directorates. In the research, a questionnaire consisting of questions about type 2 diabetes self management and candidate scale were used for data collection. Scale structure was determined by factor analysis. Reliability was evaluated by Cronbach Alpha, test-retest methods. In all analyzes, statistical significance level was accepted as <0.05.The average age of the participants was 57,954 ± 10,907. 53.3% were women and 46.7% were men. Content validity of the scale was carried out with a team of experts. With the factor analysis, the explained variance ratio of the scale consisting of 19 items and three dimensions was calculated as 50,019%. Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the scale was calculated as 0.856. In Test-Retest analysis, it was evaluted that intraclass correlation coefficient ranged between 0.785 and 0.953. A significant difference was determined between the scores obtained from the scale and age group, education status, physical activity, DM education, development of complications, emergency application and hospitalization in the last year (p <0.05). `Type 2 Diabetes Self Management Scale` is valid and reliable and suitable for use in the community.

Bu araştırmada, tip 2 diyabet hastalığı tanısı konmuş kişilerde hastalık öz yönetiminin değerlendirilmesi ve tip 2 diyabet öz yönetimi ölçeğinin geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma metodolojik tipte bir araştırmadır. Araştırmaya GÜTF Diyabet ve Obezite Polikliniği'ne başvuran 572 tip 2 diyabetli hasta ve Sincan, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı ve Yenimahalle ilçe sağlık müdürlüklerine bağlı bazı ASM'lere başvuran 339 tip 2 diyabetli hasta dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama amacıyla tip 2 diyabet öz yönetimi ile ilgili sorulardan oluşan anket formu ve aday ölçek kullanılmıştır. Ölçek yapısı faktör analizi ile belirlenmiştir. Güvenilirlik, Cronbach Alpha, test-retest yöntemleri ile değerlendirilmiştir. Tüm analizlerde istatistiksel anlamlılık düzeyi <0,05 kabul edilmiştir. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 57,954±10,907'dır. %53,3'ü kadın, %46,7'si erkektir. Ölçeğin kapsam geçerliliği uzman ekip ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Faktör analizi ile, 19 madde ve üç boyuttan oluşan ölçeğin açıklanan varyans oranı %50,019 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Ölçeğin Cronbach Alpha katsayısı 0,856 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Test-Retest analizinde sınıf içi koreleasyon katsayılarının 0,785 ile 0,953 arasında değiştiği belirlenmiştir. Ölçekten alınan puanlarla yaş grubu, eğitim durumu, fiziksel aktivite, DM eğitimi alma, komplikasyon gelişimi, son bir yılda acil başvurusu ve hastaneye yatış arasında anlamlı fark belirlenmiştir (p<0,05). Araştırma sonucunda geliştirilen `Tip 2 Diyabet Öz Yönetim Ölçeği` geçerli ve güvenilir olup toplumda kullanılmaya uygundur.
