The purpose of this study was to investigate the opinions of physical education teachers and school administrators on effectiveness of physical education and sports lesson.The effectiveness of physical education and sports lesson is determined by appealing to the opinions of physical education teachers and school administrators who work in Ankara. While the area of investigation is constituted by physical education teachers and school administrators work in Ankara central districts' primary, middle and high schools, sampling is constituted by 15 schools, total 120 schools, 255 physical education teachers and 230 school administrators which are selected randomly from each district. The data obtained from this study is evaluated by descriptive statistics, and the group characteristics is evaluated by using frequency, percentage and mean scores. The prepared scale is applied after the reliabilty and validity tests are performed.As a result of the study, according to the opinions of physical education teachers and school administrators who work in Ankara central districts' primary, middle and high schools; in general terms, the students and parents don't pay enough importance to the physical education and sports lessons, physical education and sports lessons; effect the physical development of students, cause students to gain the habit of behaviour of team work, cause students to understand the concept of life-long sport, effect students to solve the daily life problems more quickly, cause them to gain positive behaviour, have positive effect on the success of other fields of study and contribute to the development of new athletes, however due to the lack of sports facilities and materials the effectiveness of physical education and sports lessons' execution are not obtained.Key Words: Physical Education and Sports, Physical Education Teacher, School Administrators.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, beden eğitimi öğretmenleri ve okul yöneticilerinin Beden Eğitimi ve Spor dersinin etkinliği üzerine görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Beden eğitimi ve spor dersinin etkinliği, Ankara ilinde görev yapan beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin ve okul yöneticilerinin görüşlerine başvurularak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini; Ankara merkez ilçelerindeki ilkokul, ortaokul ve lise kurumlarında görev yapan beden eğitimi öğretmenleri ve okul idarecileri oluştururken, örneklemi ise; her ilçeden rast gele seçilmiş 15 okul, toplam 120 okul, 255 beden eğitimi öğretmeni ve 230 okul idarecisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler, tanımlayıcı istatistikle gurubun özellikleri; frekans, yüzdelik ve ortalama puanlar kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Hazırlanan ölçek, güvenirlik ve geçerlik çalışması yapıldıktan sonra uygulanmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda; Ankara merkez ilçelerindeki ilkokul, ortaokul ve lise okullarında görev yapan beden eğitimi öğretmenleri ve okul yöneticilerinin görüşlerine göre, öğretmenler ve yöneticiler genel anlamda öğrenci ve velilerin derse olan önemi yeterince göstermedikleri, beden eğitimi ve spor dersinin genel anlamda öğrencilerin fiziksel gelişiminde etkisinin olduğu, öğrencilere birlikte hareket etme davranış alışkanlığı kazandırdığı, öğrencilerin yaşam boyu spor kavramını anlamalarını,öğrencilerin günlük yaşam sorunlarını daha çabuk çözümlemesinde etkisinin bulunduğunu, olumlu davranış kazanmalarını sağladığını, diğer derslerdeki başarılarına olumlu etkisinin bulunduğu ve yeni sporcuların yetişmesinde katkısının bulunduğu, ancak okullardaki spor tesisleri ve malzemelerinin eksik olduğunu ve bu eksiklikten dolayı beden eğitimi ve spor dersinin etkin bir şekilde işlenemediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Beden Eğitimi ve Spor, Beden Eğitimi Öğretmeni, Okul Yöneticisi.
