Matematiksel anlamanın en önemli özelliği bir matematiksel ifadenin nasıl oluştuğu ve bu matematiksel ifadenin doğruluğu ile ilgili geçerli gerekçelendirmeler elde etmeye katkı sağlamasıdır. Matematiksel anlamaya sağladığı destek ile anlamlı öğrenmelerin gerçekleşmesine katkıda bulunan matematiksel muhakeme ve ispat, öğrenme süreçlerinde işe koşulması gereken temel kavramlardandır. Bu kapsamda değerlendirildiğinde, matematiksel bilginin kurulması ve aktarılmasında gerekli olan matematiksel ispatlar, öğrenme süreçlerinde ve matematiksel anlamayı sağlama konusunda matematiksel muhakeme ile daha fazla anlam kazanan bir yapıda olurlar. Var olan düzenlilikleri belirleme, tahminde bulunma, sorgulama yapabilme, gerekçelendirmede bulunma ve ilişkilendirme; muhakeme ve ispatın birlikte kazandığı anlamlardan birkaçıdır. Muhakeme ile beraber öğrenme-öğretme süreçleri adına farklı işlevlere sahip olan ispatın etki alanları bunlarla sınırlı değildir. Matematiksel ispatlar; problem çözmenin özel bir rolüdür ve matematiksel iletişimin bir parçasıdır. Geçmiş bilgilerin sentezlenerek yeni bilgilerin kurulmasını ve düşünceleri zorlayarak üstbilişin gelişimini sağlaması da matematiksel ispatın anlamlı öğrenmelerin gerçekleşmesine sağladığı katkılarındandır. Etkili öğretmenler de öğrettiği matematiği sadece bilmekle kalmayıp matematiksel muhakeme ve ispatın farklı anlamları kapsamında gerçekten anlayan kişilerdir. Ancak matematiksel ispatlar sadece teoremlerin doğruluğunu sağlayan ve belirli bilgi seviyesine sahip kişilerde ele alınabilecek bir konu alanı olarak görülür. Matematiksel ispatları sadece bu kapsamda ele almak; uluslararası çalışmalarda da ifade edildiği üzere tüm sınıf seviyelerinde ele alınabilecek ve matematik eğitimindeki etkisi geniş işlevlerini görememeye neden olur. Bu durumun önüne, matematiksel ispatları gerçek anlamıyla tanıyan, etki alanlarını bilen ve tüm bunları; gerek matematiksel gerek psikolojik ve gerekse de pedagojik açıdan yorumlayan ve düşünme süreçleri bağlamında ele almış öğretmenler geçebilir. Bu doğrultuda bu araştırmanın amacı; matematik öğretmen adaylarının matematiksel ispatlara yönelik görevlerle bireysel ve grup halinde meşgul olurken matematiksel muhakeme ve ispat yapma süreçlerini; Muhakeme - İspatlama Çerçevesi ve üstbiliş bağlamında incelemektir. Araştırma amacı doğrultusunda, matematik öğretmen adaylarının matematiksel muhakeme ve ispat yapma süreçlerini; görev soruları, gözlem ve doküman inceleme yöntemleriyle nasıl olduğunu ortaya çıkarmak, bunların nedenleri ve yol açtığı sonuçları tartışmak hedeflendiği için nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması yaklaşımı esas alınmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Marmara Bölgesi'nde bulunan bir Devlet Üniversitesi'nin Eğitim Fakültesi İlköğretim Matematik Öğretmenliği bölümü 2017 - 2018 eğitim-öğretim dönemi 3. sınıfta öğrenim görmekte olan üç öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Araştırma amacına uygun verileri elde edebilmek için çeşitli veri toplama araçları kullanılmıştır. Muhakeme-İspatlama Analitik Çerçevesi dikkate alınarak oluşturulan farklı kategorilerdeki ispat görevlerini içeren Muhakeme - İspat odaklı görev soruları hazırlanmıştır. Ayrıca ispat görevlerinin çözümüne ilişkin sesli düşünme protokolleri, üstbilişsel süreçlere ilişkin davranış kartları, görüşme soruları ve video-ses kayıtları kullanılmıştır. Veriler bireysel ve grup çalışmaları ile iki yönlü olarak toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler betimsel ve içerik analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Matematik öğretmen adaylarının matematiksel muhakeme ve ispat yapma süreçlerini matematiksel perspektiften inceleyebilmek için Muhakeme-İspatlama Analitik Çerçevesinin matematiksel bileşen bölümünden faydalanılmıştır. Psikolojik ve pedagojik bileşen ile üstbilişsel düzenleme süreçleri kapsamında yapılan analizlerde ise alanyazından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, matematik öğretmen adaylarının, matematiksel muhakeme ve ispat yapma süreçlerinin farklı bileşenler bağlamında çeşitlilik gösterdiği ve bu bileşenlerin birbirini destekler sonuçlar verdiği belirlenmiştir. Matematiksel bileşen perspektifinden değerlendirilen bireysel çözümlerde çoğunlukla deneysel argüman kategorisine uygun çözümler geliştirdikleri dolayısıyla belirli durumları içerisine alan çözümler geliştirmeye odaklandıkları tespit edilmiştir. Grup olarak geliştirdikleri çözümlerinde ise çoğunlukla genel örnek kategorisine uygun çözümler geliştirmiş dolayısıyla tüm durumları içerisine alan genel bir temsil durumu oluşturmaya çalışmışlardır. Geliştirmiş oldukları çözümlere ilişkin stratejik algılarını en çok bilgileri ile ilişkilendirdikleri; çözüm niteliğine ilişkin algılarını ise geçerli olmaya dayandırarak açıkladıkları tespit edilmiştir. Muhakeme ve ispat yapmaya ilişkin pedagojik bilgilerini kendi eksiklikleri doğrultusunda yorumladıkları ve ispat kavramına genel anlamda; kesin bilgileri kullanma, istenilen durumları gösterme ve genelleme yapma anlamı yükledikleri tespit edilmiştir. Üstbilişsel düzenleme süreçlerinin muhakeme ve ispat yapma süreçlerini desteklediği ve bu süreçleri net olarak ortaya koyabildikleri gözlemlenmiştir. Genelde ispat yapma sürecinde, izlemeye dayalı süreçlerini çözüm sürecinde gerçekleştirdikleri tespit edilmiştir. Matematik öğretmen adaylarının ispatın farklı anlamlarını deneyimleyerek, öğretmenlik yaşamlarında ispatın bu yönlerini nasıl ele alacaklarını yorumladıkları bu araştırmanın matematiksel muhakeme ve ispat konusunda önemli sonuçlar içerdiği düşünülmektedir.

The most important feature of mathematical understanding is its contribution to obtaining valid justifications about how a mathematical expression is formed and the accuracy of this mathematical expression. Mathematical reasoning and proving, which contributes to the materialization of meaningful learning through the support it provides to mathematical understanding, is one of the basic concepts that must be pressed into service in learning processes. When assessed in this context, the mathematical provings that are necessary for the establishment and transferring of mathematical knowledge are in a structure that gains more meaning with mathematical reasoning in learning processes and providing mathematical understanding. Identifying existing regularities and also predicting, questioning, justifying and associating them are a few of the meanings gained together with mathematical reasoning and proving. The scope of proof, which has different functions in the name of learning-teaching processes along with reasoning, is not limited to these. Mathematical proving has a special role of problem solving and is a part of mathematical communication. The establishment of new knowledge with the synthesis of past knowledge and the development of metacognition by forcing thoughts are the contributions of mathematical proving to the realization of meaningful learning. Effective teachers are the ones who not only know the mathematics they teach, but also really understand the different meanings of mathematical reasoning and proving. However, mathematical proving is seen as a subject area that can be dealt only with people that have a certain level of knowledge, which ensures only the accuracy of the theorems. Considering mathematical proving only in this context; As stated in international studies, leads to the inability of its broad function which can be addressed at all grade levels and also of its effect on mathematics education. In front of this situation, it can be preceded by teachers that recognize mathematical proving truly, that know the spheres of influence and that interpret all these from a mathematical, psychological and pedagogical point of view and consider them in the context of thinking processes. In this respect, the aim of this research is to analyse the pre-service mathematics teachers' preoccupation with mathematical reasoning and proving processes while engaging in tasks related to mathematical proving individually and in groups in the scope of Reasoning-Proving Framework and metacognition. For the purpose of the research, pre-service mathematics teachers' mathematical reasoning and proving processes; task questions, observation and document review methods to reveal how it is, to discuss the reasons and the consequences of these qualitative research designs are what this research study approach is based on. The study group of the research consisted of three pre-service teachers studying in the 3rd year of 2017 - 2018 academic year in the Department of Elementary Mathematics Teaching, Faculty of Education of a State University in Marmara Region. Various data collection tools were used in obtaining the data suitable for the research purpose. The Reasoning-Proving task questions, which contain different categories of proving tasks, have been prepared considering the Reasoning-Proving Analytical Framework. In addition, thinking aloud protocols, behavior cards related to metacognitive processes, interview questions and video-audio recordings were used for the solution of proving tasks. The said data were collected in two ways with individual and group studies. The obtained data were analyzed by descriptive and content analysis. In order to examine the mathematical reasoning and proving processes of pre-service mathematics teachers from a mathematical perspective, the mathematical component section of the Reasoning-Proving Analytical Framework was utilized. In the analyzes carried out within the context of psychological and pedagogical component also within metacognitive regulation processes, body of literature was used. As a result of the research, it was determined that mathematics pre-service teachers' mathematical reasoning and proving processes varied in the context of different components and it was also determined that these components supported each other. In the individual solutions assessed from the perspective of mathematical components, it was found that they mostly developed solutions that fit the emprical argument category and therefore focused on developing solutions that included certain situations. As for the solutions they developed as a group, most of the time they developed solutions that are appropriate to the generic example category and therefore they tried to create a general representation situation that covers all situations. It was also found that they associate their strategic perceptions with the information they have developed; and their perceptions about the quality of solution based on validity. They interpret the pedagogical knowledge about reasoning and proving in line with their own deficiencies and for the concept of proof in general terms; It is determined that they have the meaning of using the exact information, showing the desired situations and making generalization. It has been observed that metacognitive regulation processes support the processes of reasoning and proving and can clearly demonstrate these processes. In general, in the process of making proof, it has been determined that they perform their observation based processes in the solution process. This research, which has been expounding how pre-service mathematics teachers will handle the aforementioned aspects of proof in their teaching life by experiencing different meanings of proof, is thought to have important results in mathematical reasoning and proving.
