AimThe aim of this study was to compare the microhardness values of 3 different root end filling materials at varying pH and times. Materials and MethodsProRoot MTA, Biodentine and Total Fill Root Repair Material Putty were used. The samples were placed in 10 mm PLA cylinder blocks with internal dimensions of 6 mm diameter and 4 mm height prepared by 3D printing method. Ten samples of each material were soaked in buffered solutions of butyric acid with 4,4, 5,4, 6,4 and 7,4 pH values and stored at 37°C in 100% humidity. One week and 1 month later, the samples were submitted to microhardness test. MANOVA and Tukey HDS tests were carried out to compare the mean values at a significance level of p < 0.05.ResultsIn the present study, low pH caused a significant decrease in the microhardness values of all samples. Surface microhardness increased with time (p <0.0001). Overall, the microhardness values of Biodentine were significantly greater than those of ProRoot MTA and Total Fill RRM Putty (p <0.0001). The microhardness values of the ProRoot MTA were greater than that of Total Fill RRM Putty (p <0.0001). ConclusionUnder the conditions of this study, an acidic environment impaired the surface microhardness of all root repair materials tested. Biodentine seems more appropriate for use when exposed to a low pH environment compared with ProRoot MTA and Total Fill Root Repair Material Putty.Keywords: microhardness, pH, MTA, Biodentine, Total Fill.

AmaçBu çalışmanın amacı 3 farklı retrograd dolgu materyalinin farklı pH'larda ve bekletilme sürelerinde mikrosertliklerinin karşılaştırılmasıdır.Gereç ve YöntemÇalışmamızda ProRoot MTA, Biodentine ve Total Fill Root Repair Material Putty (Total Fill RRM Putty) kullanılmıştır. Örnekler 6 mm çapında 4 mm yüksekliğinde üç boyutlu baskı yöntemiyle hazırlanan 10'lu PLA silindir bloklara konulmuş, pH'ları 4,4, 5,4, 6,4 ve 7,4 olan solüsyonlara batırılmış gaz tamponların arasına yerleştirilmiş, daha sonra etüvde sırayla 1 hafta ve 1 ay bekletilmiştir. Numunelerin mikrosertlikleri Wilson®-WolpertTM Microindentation Tester 401MVD ile ölçülmüştür.BulgularDüşük pH'nın bütün numelerin mikrosertliklerinde azalma meydana getirdiği görülmüştür. Aynı gruplar içinde değerlendirildiğinde ise 1 ay bekletilen numunelerin mikrosertlikleri, 1 hafta bekletilenlerden daha fazla bulunmuştur (p<0,0001). Materyaller kendi içinde değerlendirildiğinde ise Biodentine'in mikrosertliği, ProRoot MTA ve Total Fill RRM Putty'den fazladır (p<0,0001). ProRoot MTA'nın mikrosertliği, Total Fill RRM Putty'nin mikrosertliğinden fazladır (p<0,0001). SonuçlarDüşük pH'nın retrograd dolum materyallerinin mikrosertliğini azalttığı görülmüştür. Çalışmamızın sonuçları ışığında, Biodentine materyalinin, asidik ortamda ProRoot MTA ve Total Fill Root Repair Material yerine kullanımı daha uygun bulunmuştur.Anahtar Kelimeler: mikrosertlik, pH, MTA, Biodentine, Total Fill.
