Menarche and menstrual cycle, which are among the most important changes during from childhood to adulthood in young women, bring many problems. In this regard, one of the most prevalent these problems is dysmenorrhea. It was determined that in order to evaluate dysmenorrhea in a holistic way, a measurement tool that is based on Gordon's Functional Health Patterns is needed. The objective of this study is to develop a measurement tool for evaluating dysmenorrhea in a holistic way that contributes to the literature, localize the Functional and Emotional Dysmenorrhea Scale into Turkish and evaluate factors that may be linked to dysmenorrhea. The study was conducted with 660 female students attending an university who met the primary dysmenorrhea criteria. Data was collected using the localized Functional and Emotional Dysmenorrhea Scale, Dysmenorrhea Identification From and the Effects of Dysmenorrhea Scale which were developed as part of this study. Data was analyzed using the MPLUS. During development of the Effects of Dysmenorrhea scale; content, construct, convergent validity; Cronbach's Alpha, Spearman Brown, and Guttman coefficients, item analysis, test-retest methods were used to ascertain validity and reliability. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the Effects of dysmenorrhea Scale, which was developed in this study and contained 39 items and 11 sub dimensions, was found to be 0,90; whereas the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the Functional and Emotional Dysmenorrhea Scale, which included 14 items and 2 sub dimensions was 0,91. Convergent validity between the two scales was found to be r=0,74. In addition statististically significant correlation was found between intensity of dysmenorrhea and duration of pain, whether the person being treated for dysmenorrhea, location, regular caffeine use, nutritional habits, and family history. In conclusion, it was found that the Effects of Dysmenorrhea Scale and the Functional and emotional Dysmenorrhea Scale were valid and reliable. Genç kızlarda çocukluktan erişkinliğe geçişte en önemli değişimlerden biri menarş ve menstrual siklus bir çok sorunuda beraberinde getirmektedir. Bu soruların içerisinde en yaygınlarından birisi ise dismenoredir. Kadın yaşamını olumsuz etkileyen dismenorenin holistik değerlendirilmesini sağlayacak Gordon'un Fonksiyonel Sağlık Örüntülerine göre temellendirilmiş bir ölçüm aracına ihtiyaç duyulduğu saptanmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı dismenorenin holistik değerlendirilmesini sağlayan bir ölçüm aracı geliştirerek literatüre kazandırmak, Fonksiyonel ve Emosyonel Dismenore Ölçeği'nin Türkçe adaptasyonunu yapmak ve dismenore ile ilişkili olabilecek faktörleri değerlendirmektir. Araştırma bir kamu üniversitesinde primer dismenore tanısına uyan 660 kız öğrenci üzerinde yapıldı. Veriler Dismenore Tanılama Formu, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen Dismenore Etkilenmişlik Ölçeği ile Fonksiyonel ve Emosyonel Dismenore Ölçeği kullanılarak toplandı. Veriler MPLUS programı ile değerlendirildi. Ölçek geliştirme ve geçerlilik güvenirlilik aşamalarında kapsam geçerliliği, yapı geçerliliği, birleşen geçerliliği, Cronbach's Alpha, Spearman Brown ve Guttman katsayıları, Madde analizi, Test-tekrar test yöntemleri kullanıldı. Araştırma sonucunda geliştirilen 39 madde ve 11 alt boyuttan oluşan Dismenore Etkilenmişlik Ölçeği'nin Cronbach's Alpha katsayısı 0,90; 14 madde ve 2 alt boyuttan oluşan Fonksiyonel ve Emosyonel Dismenore Ölçeğinin Cronbach's Alpha katsayısı 0,91 olarak bulunurken, birleşen geçerliliği r=0,74 olarak bulundu. Ayrıca Dismenore şiddeti ile ağrı süresi, doktora başvurma durumu, yaşadığı yer, kahvaltı alışkanlığı, düzenli kafein kullanma durumu, beslenme alışkanlığı ve aile öyküsü arasında anlamlı fark bulundu. Sonuç olarak Dismenore Etkilenmişlik Ölçeği ile Fonksiyonel ve Emosyonel Dismenore ölçeğinin geçerli ve güvenilir oldukları bulundu. Anahtar Kelimeler: Dismenore, Ölçek Geliştirme, Gordon Modeli.
