The Internet of Things is a continuously growing network of objects that includes communication between systems connected to the internet. As a result of the rapid development of the Internet of Things over the past few years, different devices and software have been developed in the Internet of Things ecosystem supporting various communication protocols. On the other hand, in line with the application requirements, modern communication systems should ensure the safe transmission of critical control data. In this study, safety issues of the communication protocols for the Internet of Things are analyzed, and in this direction, techniques that can deal with possible threats for IoT networks are investigated. In this context, a security layer for the MQTT, one of the most preferred among the Internet of Things communication protocols, has been designed. This layer is coded with C ++ programming language and feasibility of the proposed method is tested on simulation studies.

Nesnelerin İnterneti, internete bağlı sistemler arasındaki iletişimi içeren sürekli büyüyen nesneler ağıdır. Geçtiğimiz birkaç yıl boyunca, Nesnelerin İnternetinin hızlı bir şekilde gelişmesinin bir sonucu olarak, Nesnelerin İnterneti ekosisteminde çeşitli iletişim protokollerini destekleyen farklı cihazlar ve yazılımlar geliştirilmiştir. Öte yandan, uygulama gereksinimleri doğrultusunda, modern iletişim sistemleri kritik kontrol verilerinin emniyetli biçimde iletilmesini de sağlamalıdır. Bu çalışmada, Nesnelerin İnterneti haberleşmesinde emniyet konusu incelenmiş, bu doğrultuda, IoT ağları için olası tehditlerle başa çıkabilecek teknikler araştırılmıştır. Elde edilen bilgiler ışığında Nesnelerin İnterneti haberleşme protokolleri arasında öne çıkan MQTT haberleşme protokolü için bir emniyet katmanı tasarlanmıştır. Bu katman, C++ programlama dili ile kodlanmış ve yapılan benzetim çalışmaları ile test edilmiştir.
