This study was carried out in 2017 in the research greenhouse and laboratories of the Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture at Atatürk University in order to determine the effect of methyl amine (MA) applications on plant growth and some physiological and biochemical properties in pepper grown under drought stress. The study was conducted according to randomized plot design with 4 irrigation levels [full irrigation (100%) (S0), 80% (S1), 60% (S2) and 40% (S3)] and two MA applications (0, 2.5 mM)] with 3 replications as a pot experiment. At the end of the study, plant growth parameters and some physiological and biochemical measurements and analyzes in pepper plants were used to evaluate the differences between applications. According to the research findings, there were significant differences between applications and levels. Effects of MA treatments on plant growth (plant height, stem diameter, fresh, dry weight etc.) and some physiological and biochemical parameters [tissue electrical conductivity (DEI), tissue proportional water content (DOSI), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), Malondialdehyde (MDA), proline] of pepper under different irrigation levels were significantly important. At the end of the study, it was determined that the drought conditions negatively affected the plant growth, increased the content of DEİ, H2O2 and MDA and decreased the DOSİ value in pepper. However, MA application improved plant growth and decreased DEİ, H2O2 and MDA content compared to control in pepper under drought conditions. As a result; it has been shown that the MA application can reduce the damage caused by the drought stress on the peppers.

Bu çalışma, kuraklık stresi altında yetiştirilen biberde fide döneminde metil amin (MA) uygulamalarının bitki gelişimi ile bazı fizyolojik ve biyokimyasal özellikler üzerine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla Atatürk Üniversitesi, Ziraat Fakültesi, Bahçe Bitkileri Bölümü Araştırma Seraları ve Laboratuarlarında 2017 yılında yürütülmüştür. Araştırma, tesadüf parselleri deneme desenine göre 4 sulama seviyesi [tam sulama (%100) (S0), tarla kapasitesinin %80 (S1), %60 (S2) ve %40 (S3)] ve iki MA uygulaması (0, 2.5 mM) 3 tekerrürlü olarak saksı denemesi şeklinde yürütülmüştür. Deneme süresi sonunda biber fidelerinde bitki gelişim parametreleri ile bazı fizyolojik ve biyokimyasal ölçüm ve analizler yapılarak uygulamalar arasındaki farlılıklar değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre uygulamalar ve seviyeler arasında önemli farklılıklar ortaya çıkmıştır. Farklı sulama seviyelerinde yetiştirilen biberde MA uygulamalarının bitki gelişimi (bitki boyu, gövde çapı, taze, kuru ağırlık vb.) ve bazı fizyolojik ve biyokimyasal parametreler [doku elektrik iletkenliği (DEİ), doku oransal su içeriği (DOSİ), hidrojen peroksit (H2O2), Malondialdehid (MDA), prolin] üzerine etkisinin önemli olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonunda kurak koşulların biberde bitki gelişimini olumsuz etkilediği, DEİ, H2O2 ve MDA içeriğini artırdığı, DOSİ değerini ise azalttığı tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte MA uygulaması kurak şartlarda biberde bitki gelişimini iyileştirmiş ve DEİ, H2O2 ve MDA içeriğini kontrole göre azaltmıştır. Sonuç olarak; MA uygulamasının kurak koşuların biber üzerine meydana getirdiği zararı azaltabildiği ortaya konulmuştur.
