There are differences in the tax legislation, TAS 2 inventories standard and BOBI FRS stock arrangements. One of the differences is the proposed cost methods. The TAS 2 Inventory Standard proposes the use of the normal cost method whereas the FOB Act requires the full cost method to be used for the determination of inventory costs, whereas the BOBI FRS, which became effective on January 1, 2018, requires the full cost and normal cost method. However, regarding the normal cost method, there is also a difference in the TAS 2 Inventory standard and BOBI FRS registration systems. Under the tax legislation and standards in the study, stock cost methods, differences in cost calculations and the cost recording method for BOBI FRS are emphasizedThe Tax Procedures Law clarifying the existing practices and standards have been examined comparatively in terms of stock cost methods. The purpose of the study is to compare the difference between the TAS 2 Inventory Standard and the BOBI FRS's normal cost method and the full cost method adopted by the Tax Procedural Code, to reveal the differences and the reasons for such differences. For this purpose, it is to raise awareness of information users about cost methods which give more realistic and reliable results.

Vergi mevzuatının, TMS 2 stoklar standardının ve BOBİ FRS'nin stoklarla ilgili düzenlemelerinde farklılıklar mevcuttur. Söz konusu farklılıklar biri de önerilen maliyet yöntemleridir. Vergi Usul Kanunu stok maliyetlerinin tespitinde tam maliyet yönteminin kullanılmasını zorunlu kılarken, TMS 2 stoklar standardı normal maliyet yöntemini, son olarak 1 Ocak 2018'de yürürlüğe giren BOBİ FRS ise tam maliyet ve normal maliyet yönteminin kullanılmasını önermektedir. Ancak normal maliyet yöntemi ile ilgili olarak TMS 2 Stoklar standardı ve BOBİ FRS'nin kayıt sistemlerinde de farklılık söz konusudur. Çalışmada öncelikli olarak vergi mevzuatı ve standartlar kapsamında stok maliyet yöntemleri, maliyet hesaplamalarındaki farklılıklar ve BOBİ FRS'ye yönelik maliyet kayıt düzeni vurgulanmıştır. Mevcut uygulamalara açıklık getiren Vergi Usul Kanunu ile standartlar stok maliyet yöntemleri açısından karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmada amaçlanan hem TMS 2 stoklar standardının hem de BOBİ FRS'nin önerdiği normal maliyet yöntemi ile Vergi Usul Kanunun kabul ettiği tam maliyet yöntemini karşılaştırarak farklılıkları ve söz konusu farklılıkların nedenlerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla bağlantılı olarak daha gerçekçi ve güvenilir sonuçlar veren maliyet yöntemleri konusunda bilgi kullanıcılarında farkındalık oluşturmaktır.
