The tourism sector, which is one of the rapidly developing sectors in the world, has been exposed to new evolutions in recent years. New types of tourism, especially ecotourism, are developing rapidly while marine tourism is still popular. To begin to understand the importance of the concept of sustainability in particular, sustainable ecotourism activities are of special importance today. However, in some special areas both marine tourism and ecotourism can be seen. To reveal the ecotourism potential of Dikili District. The geographical location of the Dikili District, which forms the study area, and the natural beauties it has, if any, have shone a star in tourism in recent years. Standing; Unesco is one of the most important districts of Greece and of Lesbos in Izmir, in other words of Bergama in World Cultural Heritage List. It is located 118 km from İzmir in the Aegean Coast of the Aegean Region. Dikili is a special place that can replace almost all types of tourism with a very ancient past. In addition to sea tourism, the Aegean Sea of the province has a serious potential for ecotourism activities. Many ecotourism activities such as nature walk, camping, boat tours, diving activities, botanical tourism, bird watching, cave tourism, culture tourism, gastronomic tourism, nature photography can be done in the district. In this study, many research methods including survey studies and field studies and observations were used. As a result, ecotourism existing in the region has been analyzed with various aspects related to the potential geographical elements, evaluated, analyzed and tried to put forward the results and suggestions.

Dünyada hızla gelişen sektörlerden biri olan turizm sektörü, son yıllarda yeni evrilmelere maruz kalmaktadır. Deniz turizmi hala popülerliğini korurken yeni turizm çeşitleri özellikle ekoturizm türleri hızla gelişmektedir. Özellikle sürdürülebilirlik kavramının öneminin daha iyi anlaşılmaya başladığı günümüzde sürdürülebilir ekoturizm faaliyetleri ayrı bir önem arz etmektedir. Bununla birlikte bazı özel alanlarda hem deniz turizmi hem de ekoturizm türleri görülebilmektedir. Bu tez çalışmasının amacı da pek çok turizm çeşidinin görüldüğü Dikili İlçesi'nin ekoturizm potansiyelini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma alanını oluşturan Dikili İlçesi'nin gerek coğrafi konumu, gerekse sahip olduğu doğal güzellikleri sayesinde son yıllarda turizmde yıldızı parlamaktadır. Dikili; Unesco Dünya Kültür Miras Listesindeki Bergama'nın hemen yanında ve Yunanistan'ın Midilli Adası'nın doğusunda bulunan İzmir'in önemli ilçelerinden biridir. İlçe Ege Bölgesi'nin Kıyı Ege Bölümü'nde İzmir'e 118 km uzaklıkta yer almaktadır. Dikili çok eski bir tarihe geçmişe sahip olmasının yanısıra hemen hemen bütün turizm çeşitlerinin yapılabildiği bir özel bir konumdadır. İlçenin Ege Denizi kıyısında olması ve farklı topografya şekillerine sahip olması nedeniyle deniz turizminin yanısıra, ekoturizm faaliyetleri için de ciddi bir potansiyele sahiptir. İlçede trekking, kamping, tekne turları, dalış faaliyetleri, botanik turizmi, kuş gözlemciliği, mağara turizmi, kültür turizmi, gastronomi turizmi, doğa fotoğrafçılığı gibi pek çok ekoturizm faaliyeti yapılabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada anket çalışmaları ile birlikte, arazi çalışmaları ve gözlemleri olmak üzere pek çok araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak bölgede var olan ekoturizm potansiyeli coğrafi unsurlarla ilişkilendirilerek farklı yönleri ile incelenmiş ve değerlendirilmiş, analizler yapılmış, sonuç ve öneriler ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
