This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of educational drama program on developing self-regulation skills (Attention-Impulse Control and Positive Emotion) in 62-72 month old preschool children. In this study, qualitative research technique, true experimental model pre-test, post-test design and experiment-control group testing model was used. The study group consists of 42 children 21 of whom were selected for the experiment and 21 of whom were selected for the control group in the pre-primary classes in the public primary schools in Maltepe District in Istanbul for the 2015-2016 school year. The experiment and control groups in the study were selected using `purposive sampling` . At the same time, the number of girls and boys were the same in these groups based on the self regulation pre-test analysis results and development points of the children at the end of the semestre. In the study, the Turkish version of `Preschool Self Regulation Assessment (PSRA)` adapted by Ezgi-Fındık Tanrıbuyurdu (2012) was used to identify self-regulation skills (Attention-Impulse Control and Positive Emotion) in 62-72 month old preschool children and the `Personal Information Form` developed by the researcher to obtain demographics of the parents was also used. This scale comprises two parts: `assessor guide for the tasks the child is expected to perform` `Assessor Report Examiner Rating Scale`. An educational drama program for the sub-dimensions (Attention-Impulse Control and Positive Emotion) prepared by the researcher was used for the children in the experiment group. The program consisted of 20 activities in 10 weeks. There were plays, educational drama and discussion sessions, supportive activities and parent interaction processes as parts of the educational drama program. Additionally, `Tools of the Mind` curriculum appropriate for the program content was used to support memory skills and facilitate transition from play to drama activities. The tool of the mind was taught to the children via a song written by the researcher according to the Vygotsky theory. All activities were developed taken into account the self regulation sub-dimensions `Attention-Impulse Control` and `Positive Emotion` processes. The children in the control group followed the their regular daily program given by their teachers. The `SPSS` 18.0 program was used for the statistical analysis of the data and the distribution of sex, gender, economical status, parents' education status, number of siblings and demographics information was shown as frequency and percentage values. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and non-parametric `Mann-Whitney-U` and `Kruskal-Wallis Test` were used for pre-test post-test comparisons of self- regulation `Attention-Impulse Control` and `Positive Emotion` scores of the experiment and control group. In the study results, the `Experimenter Evaluation Form` post-test Attention-Impulse control scores and `Performance Tasks` data and `Delayed Gratification`, `Ability to Follow Instructions Executive Control`, `Socialization` scores of the experiment group which received the educational drama program to support self-regulations skills were found to be significantly higher than the post-test results of the control group (p<0.05). In this study, the significance value of the post-test `Positive Emotion` scores of all variables in the `Experimenter Evaluation Form` of the experiment and control groups of 62-72 month old children in the education drama program was low. The scores the experiment group in the evaluation of four tasks of the sub-dimension `Delayed Gratification (Toy Wrap, Snack Delay, Toy Wait and Tongue Task) and in the evaluation of two tasks of the sub-dimension `Ability to Follow Instructions` (Balance Beam, Pencil Tap) and in the evaluation of the two task of the sub-dimension `Socialization (Tower Cleanup, Toy Sorting) were significantly higher than those of the control group (p<0,05). As a conclusion, the study results show that the education drama program is effective in developing self-regulation skills in 62-72 month old preschool children. The researcher conclude that such educational drama programs used to develop self regulation skills in 62-72 month old preschool children will have an impact in their future academic development. Bu çalışma, okul öncesi dönem 62-72 ay çocuklarının öz düzenleme becerilerinin (Dikkat-Dürtü Kontrolü ve Olumlu Duygu) kazandırılmasında eğitici drama programının etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Nicel araştırma tekniği kullanılarak yapılmış olan bu araştırmada, gerçek deneme modelli ön-test-son-test, deney-kontrol gruplu deneme modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılı, bahar dönemi İstanbul ili Anadolu yakası Maltepe ilçesi Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı resmi ilkokul bünyesinin ana sınıflarında bulunan 21 deney, 21 kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 42 çocuk oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada bulunan deney ve kontrol grupları, `Amaçlı Örneklem Yöntemi` ile belirlenmiştir. Aynı zamanda öz düzenleme ön-test analiz sonuçları ve çocukların dönem sonu gelişim puanlarına göre, kız erkek oranı eşitlenerek gruplar oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmada, ebeveynlerin demografik bilgilerine ulaşmak amacıyla araştırmacının hazırlanmış olduğu `Kişisel Bilgi Formu` ve okul öncesi dönem 62-72 ay çocuklarının öz düzenleme becerilerini (Dikkat-Dürtü Kontrolü ve Olumlu Duygu) belirlemek amacıyla Ezgi FINDIK-TANRIBUYURDU (2012) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlaması yapılan `Okul Öncesi Öz Düzenleme Ölçeği` (OÖDÖ) kullanılmıştır. Bu ölçek `Çocuğun Performansını Değerlendiren Uygulayıcı Rehberi` ve `Uygulayıcı Değerlendirme Formu` olarak iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Deney grubunda yer alan çocuklara, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış olan öz düzenleme alt boyutlarına (Dikkat-Dürtü Kontrolü ve Olumlu Duygu) yönelik eğitici drama programı uygulanmıştır. Program, 10 haftada 20 etkinlik şeklinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Programın içeriğinde; oyun, eğitici drama ve eğitici drama programı aşamalarından tartışma bölümleri, destekleyici etkinlikler ve aile katılımı süreçleri yer almıştır. Aynı zamanda program içeriğine uygun, oyun ve drama etkinlikleri arasında geçişi kolaylaştırıcı ve hatırlama becerisini destekleyici bir `Zihin Aracı` da kullanılmıştır. Vygotsky teorisinden yararlanılarak oluşturulmuş zihnin aracı araştırmacının yapmış olduğu bir şarkı olarak çocuklara öğretilmiştir. Program bütününde yer alan bütün etkinliklerde öz düzenleme alt boyutlarından `Dikkat-Dürtü Kontrolü` ve `Olumlu Duygu` süreçleri dikkate alınarak hazırlanmıştır. Kontrol grubu çocuklarına, öğretmenleri tarafından günlük planda yer alan program akışı gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin istatistik analizinde `SPSS` 18.0 bilgisayar programı yardımıyla cinsiyet, yaş, ekonomik durum, anne-baba öğrenim durumu, kardeş sayısı ve demografik bilgilerine ilişkin dağılımları frekans ve yüzde değerleri olarak verilmiştir. Deney ve kontrol grubu öz düzenlemenin `Dikkat-Dürtü Kontrolü` ve `Olumlu Duygu` puanları ön-test-son-test karşılaştırmalarında `Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralı Testi`, non-parametrik testlerden `Mann Whitney-U` ve `Kruskal-Wallis Testi` kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularının sonuçlarında, öz düzenleme becerilerini destekleyici eğitici drama programının uygulandığı deney grubunun `Uygulayıcı Değerlendirme Formu` son-test `Dikkat-Dürtü Kontrolü` puanları ve `Performans Görevleri` verileri `Hazzı Erteleme`, `Yönerge Takibi Yürütücü Kontrol`, `Sosyal Uyum` puanlarının kontrol grubunun son test sonuçlarına göre anlamlılık değeri yüksek çıkmıştır (p<0.05). Bu çalışmada eğitici drama programının 62-72 ay çocuklarının öz düzenleme alt boyutlarında yapılan son-test analiz sonuçlarında deney ve kontrol gruplarının `Uygulayıcı Değerlendirme Formunda` tüm değişkenlerin son-test `Olumlu Duygu` puanlarının anlamlılık değeri düşük çıkmıştır. `Performans Görevleri` verilerine göre `Hazzı Erteleme`, alt boyutunun dört performans değerlendirmesinde (oyuncak paketleme, şekerleme saklama, oyuncak bekleme, dil üzerinde şekerleme saklama) `Yönerge Takibi/ Yürütücü Kontrol`, alt boyutunun iki performans değerlendirmesinde (denge tahtası, kalem tıklatma) `Sosyal Uyum` alt boyutunun iki performans değerlendirmesinde (kule toplama, oyuncak ayırma) alt boyutlarında deney grubunun anlamlılık değeri; kontrol grubuna göre yüksek çıkmıştır (p<0.05). Sonuç olarak bu çalışma, okul öncesi dönem 62-72 ay çocuklarının öz düzenleme becerisinin gelişiminde, uygulanmış olan eğitici drama programının etkili olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu durumun, okul öncesi dönem 62-72 ay çocuklarının öz düzenleme becerileri gelişiminde uygulanan eğitici drama programlarının ilerideki akademik gelişimi de etkileyeceği yönündedir.
