Abstract

The investigations after the major earthquakes showed that significant portion of the building damages were caused by the structural irregularities. Especially in the high seismic risk countries, the earthquake resistant design regulations have been renewed in order to reduce life and property loss.This study investigates RC- buildings' structural irregularities in the different districts of Istanbul with different functions. The structural irregularities will be evaluated according to Turkey's and other countries regulations. This study consists of five chapters: the first chapter introduces the structural irregularities and its importance. The second chapter includes the carrier system irregularities. The irregularity concepts in the existing Turkish design code have been taken into account. The third chapter consists of numerical examples and results. In the fourth chapter, the effect of structural irregularıty on urban risk has been examined. In the fifth chapter, the results and comments have been summarized.

Depremlerden sonra yapılan gözlemlerde yapılarda oluşan hasarların önemli bir kısmı yapısal düzensizliklerden kaynaklandığı belirlenmiştir. Büyük çaplı depremler sonrasında deprem tehlike ve riskinin yüksek olduğu ülkelerde can ve mal kayıplarına karşı yönetmelikler hazırlanmıştır.Yüksek lisans tezi olarak sunulan bu çalışmada, İstanbul'da muhtelif ilçelerde farklı zaman aralıklarında yapılan farklı işlevsel özellikteki binaların deprem yönetmeliğinde belirtilen düzensizliklere göre incelemesi yapılmıştır. Düzensizliklerin detaylı incelendiği bu tezde, geçmişten günümüze, ülkemiz ve diğer ülkelerin kaynakları da dahil edilerek genel bir değerlendirme yapılmaktadır.Beş farklı bölümden oluşan bu çalışmada, ilk bölüm konunun tanıtılmasına yöneliktir. İkinci bölüm taşıyıcı sistem düzensizliklerine yer verilmiştir. Ülkemizin güncel mevzuatındaki düzensizlik kavramları göz önüne alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölüm sayısal örnek ve sonuçlardan oluşur. Dördüncü bölümde Taşıyıcı sistem Yapısal düzensizliğin kentsel riske etkisi incelenmiştir. Beşinci bölüm ise Sonuç ve Yorumlar dan oluşur.
