The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of obesity and to evaluate the factors affecting the nurses working in the nursing staff of Bolu İzzet Baysal State Hospital, Köroğlu Unit (health officer, midwife, nurse). The universe of the study consisted of 206 nurses working between the dates determined in the Köroğlu Unit of İzzet Baysal State Hospital. The whole universe was taken before the sample selection was made. 174 (84.46%) of the medical staff formed the research group. In the study, a questionnaire form including Personal Information Form and Obesity Evaluation Form was applied as data collection tool. Data analysis was done in SPSS (ver: 22.0) program. Kruskal Walls Test, Mann-Withney U Test and Chi-square tests were used.At the end of the study, 54.5% of the health care workers were in normal weight (95 persons), 31% (54) were overweight and 11.5% (20 persons) were obese. On the other hand, 2.9% (5 persons) of the health workers are in the weak group. When the factors affecting obesity in nurses; those who are married to health workers, health officers, those with low education levels, those with higher working years, those with higher working years, those with more children, those who think that they are overweight, those with surgical treatment, those with chronic diseases, and those with less The incidence was high.As a result, the prevalence of obesity is high in healthcare workers and some factors that increase the frequency of obesity can be taken under control and can be prevented. Although the prevalence of obesity is high in healthcare workers who should be aware of obesity, it is thought that organizing training programs in order to raise awareness about healthy nutrition is important in terms of decreasing the frequency of obesity.

Bu çalışma Bolu İzzet Baysal Devlet Hastanesi, Köroğlu Ünitesi'nde hemşire kadrosunda çalışanlar (sağlık memuru, ebe, hemşire) üzerinde obezite sıklığının belirlenmesi ve etkileyen faktörlerin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Araştırmanın evrenini İzzet Baysal Devlet Hastanesi, Köroğlu Ünitesi'inde belirlenen tarihler arasında çalışan 206 hemşire oluşturdu. Örneklem seçimine gidilmeden evrenin tamamı alınmıştır. 174(%84,46) sağlık personeli araştırma grubunu oluşturdu. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Obezite Değerlendirme Formu bulunan anket formu uygulandı. Araştırmada veri analizi SPSS(ver: 22.0) programında yapıldı.anket sonuçlarına ilişkin verilerin analizinde; Kruskal Walls Testi, Mann-Withney U Testi ve Ki kare testleri kullanıldı. Araştırma sonucunda sağlık çalışanlarının %54.5'i normal kiloda (95 kişi) iken, %31'i (54) fazla kilolu, %11,5'i (20 kişi) obez olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Öte yandan sağlık çalışanlarının %2.9'u (5 kişi) zayıf grubunda yer almaktadır. Hemşirelerde obeziteyi etkileyen faktörler incelendiğinde; evli olan sağlık çalışanlarında, sağlık memurlarında, eğitim düzeyi düşük olanlarda, çalışma yılı yüksek olanlarda, şu anda çalışmış olduğu kurumda çalışma yılı fazla olanlarda, çocuk sayısı fazla olanlarda, aşırı kilolu olduğunu düşünenlerde, cerrahi tedavi alanlarda, kronik hastalığı olanlarda ve daha az yürüyenlerde obezite sıklığı yüksek bulundu. Sonuç olarak Sağlık çalışanlarında obezite sıklığı yüksektir ve obezite sıklığını arttıran birtakım faktörler kontrol altında alınabilir ve engellenebilir özelliktedir. Obezite konusunda bilinçli ve örnek olması gereken sağlık çalışanlarında obezite sıklığı yüksek olmakla beraber, sağlıklı beslenmeyle ilgili farkındalık oluşturacak şekilde eğitim programlarının düzenlenmesi obezite sıklığının düşürülmesi yönünden önemli olduğu görüşüne varıldı.
