Within the scope of the study, it has been tried to produce high performance polymer composite with high physical, chemical and mechanical properties, hybrid fiber and mineral reinforced. In the produced composites, orthophtalic and isophthalic unsaturated polyester resin as matrix, glass fibers and basalt fibers as reinforcing material, silica sand, quartz sand and basalt sand as mineral filler material were used. Experimental studies in the production of composite materials have been made in 3 stages. Experimental studies at the first stage were carried out on unsaturated polyester resin composite mixes prepared using initiator and accelerator at different ratios. In the second step, the properties of the composite materials were tried to be improved by mixing the filler materials having different types and different particle distributions into these resin mixtures individually and as a hybrid. In the third and final stage, in order to make the composite material have the best properties in all respects and consequently to produce an alternative composite material to the materials used in the existing market, as a result of the experimental studies made in the first and second stages, chopped fiber reinforcement materials of different types and different volume ratios were added in to the filled resin mixtures having the best physical and mechanical properties and providing optimum resin consumption and the ultimate experimental work was carried out on the formed hybrid fiber reinforced composite materials. As a result of the analyzes made, it has been determined that the optimum resin mixture for both orthophtalic and isophthalic resins, in which the curing temperature and polymerization can be controlled, is obtained at the rate of 1% initiator and 1% accelerator. It has been found that silica filled composites with F0,8 grain size distributon produced with orthophtalic resins with such mixing ratios consume less resin and have higher mechanical properties. In fibrous composites, it was determined that 10% glass fiber composites with `F 0.8` dispersed quartz filled have the best mechanical properties. However, it has been concluded that the `F 0.8` dispersed silica filled 10% glass fiber composites may be preferred due to their mechanical properties being good at reasonable rates and being the least resin consuming mixture.

Bu çalışma kapsamında, yüksek fiziksel, kimyasal ve mekanik özelliklere sahip, hibrit lif ve mineral takviyeli, yüksek performanslı, polimer kompozit üretimi gerçekleştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Üretilen kompozitlerde, matris olarak ortoftalik ve izoftalik doymamış polyester reçinesi, takviye malzemesi olarak cam lifleri ve bazalt lifleri, mineral dolgu malzemesi olarak silis kumu, kuvars kumu ve bazalt kumu kullanılmıştır. Kompozit malzeme üretiminde yapılan deneysel çalışmalar 3 aşamadan oluşmuştur. İlk aşamadaki deneysel çalışmalar, farklı oranlarda başlatıcı ve hızlandırıcı kullanılarak hazırlanmış doymamış polyester reçine kompozit karışımları üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. İkinci aşamada, bu reçine karışımları içerisine farklı türde ve farklı tane dağılımına sahip dolgu malzemeleri tek tek ve hibrit olacak şekilde karıştırılarak kompozit malzemenin özellikleri geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Üçüncü ve son aşama da ise, kompozit malzemenin her açıdan en iyi özelliklere sahip olmasını sağlamak ve sonuç olarak mevcut piyasada kullanılan malzemelere alternatif bir kompozit malzeme üretmek amacıyla, birinci ve ikinci aşamada yapılan deneysel çalışmalar neticesinde, optimum reçine tüketimi sağlayan ve aynı zamanda en iyi fiziksel ve mekanik özelliklere sahip dolgulu reçine karışımları içerisine, farklı türde ve farklı hacim oranlarında kırpılmış lif takviye malzemeleri ilave edilmiş ve oluşturulan hibrit lif takviyeli kompozit malzemeler üzerinde nihai deneysel çalışmalar gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan analizler neticesinde, hem ortoftalik hem de izoftalik reçine için kürlenme ısısının ve polimerizasyonun kontrol edilebildiği optimum reçine karışımının, %1 başlatıcı ve %1 hızlandırıcı oranında elde edildiği belirlenmiştir. Bu karışım oranlarına sahip ortoftalik reçineler ile üretilen F0,8 tane dağılımına sahip silis dolgulu kompozitlerin daha az reçine tükettiği ve daha yüksek mekanik özelliğe sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Lifli kompozitlerde ise, `F 0,8` tane dağılımlı kuvars dolgulu %10 cam lifli kompozitlerin en iyi mekanik özelliklere sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ancak, `F 0,8` tane dağılımlı silis dolgulu %10 cam lifli kompozitlerin mekanik özelliklerinin de makul derecede iyi olması ve en az reçine tüketen karışım olması nedeniyle tercih edilebileceği kanaatine varılmıştır.
