This study on the research of the attitudes of higher education students for physical education and sports course is quantitative and in this study survey method was used.This study was first of all applied to 5030 female, 6410 male and totally 11440 students who took physical education and sports courses with stratified sampling during 2011-2012 Education Year at faculties, high schools and vocational high school at Kafkas University, and then it was again applied to 1212 male, 1061 female and totally 2273 students from 1, 2, 3 and 4th year classes with accidental sampling.A survey with two parts were used as data collection tool. In the first part of survey personal information form organised by the reseacher and in the second part the scale of physical education and sports attitude (BESTÖ) were used. For the analysis of the data, t-test and single factoral variance scale analysis were used in the comparison of avarage grades related to evalutation. According to the results of data analysis, it was determined that higher education students? attitudes that form the studying group to physical education and sports courses was positive. Statistically significant difference was found among the attitudes of higher education students related to physical education and sports course according to the branch of sport which was chosen for recreation, doing physical education in free time, giving permission for doing physical exercise, the frequency of doing physical exercise, monthly income of the families, receiving education cases in different classes, in different units and in different type of schools and the gender. Statistically significant difference was found among the attitudes of the students related to physical education and sports according to the frequency of doing physical exercises of their fathers, the frequency of doing physical exercises of their mothers, doing physical exercises of their parents, discomfort and injury case while doing exercises, their fathers? profession, their mothers? profession, living in different locations and their ages.Key words: Physical Education and Sports Course, Attitude Towards the Physical Education and Sports Course, Kafkas University, Attitude Scale, Higher Education Students.

Yükseköğretim öğrencilerinin beden eğitimi ve spor dersine ilişkin tutumlarının incelenmesi konulu bu çalışma nicel bir araştırma olup araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır.Araştırma, 2011-2012 Öğretim yılında Kafkas Üniversitesi'nin fakülte, yüksekokul ve meslek yüksekokullarında öğrenim gören 5030 kız, 6410 erkek olmak üzere, toplam 11440 öğrenci arasından beden eğitimi ve spor dersini almış olan öncelikle tabakalı örneklem yoluna gidilerek 1, 2, 3 ve 4. sınıf öğrencilerinden tekrar tesadüfi örnekleme yoluyla 1212 erkek, 1061 kız olmak üzere toplam 2273 öğrencinin çalışma grubunu oluşturmasıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak iki bölümden oluşan ölçek kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin birinci bölümünde araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan kişisel bilgi formu, ikinci bölümünde ise öğrenci tutumlarının ölçülmesi için; beden eğitimi ve spor tutum ölçeği (BESTÖ) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ilişkili ölçümlerde ortalama puanların karşılaştırılmasında t-testi ve tek faktörlü varyans analizi kullanılmıştır.Araştırma bulgularına göre çalışma grubunu oluşturan yükseköğretim öğrencilerinin beden eğitimi ve spor dersine karşı tutumlarının olumlu olduğu görülmektedir. Yükseköğretim öğrencilerinin cinsiyete, farklı türde okullarda öğrenim görme durumlarına, farklı birimlerde öğrenim görme durumlarına, farklı sınıflarda öğrenim görme durumlarına, ailelerinin aylık gelirine, spor yapma sıklıklarına, ailesinin spor yapmaya izin verme durumuna, serbest zamanlarını spor faaliyetleriyle değerlendirme durumuna, serbest zamanlarını değerlendirmede tercih edilen spor türüne göre beden eğitimi ve spora ilişkin tutumları arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunmaktadır. Öğrencilerin yaşlarına, farklı yerlerde ikamet etme durumlarına, annelerinin mesleklerine, babalarının mesleklerine, spor yaparken yaşadıkları rahatsızlık veya sakatlanma durumuna, anne ve babalarının spor yapma durumuna, annelerinin spor yapma sıklık durumuna, babalarının spor yapma sıklık durumuna göre beden eğitimi ve spora ilişkin tutumları arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunmamaktadır.Anahtar kelimeler: Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Dersi, Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Dersine Yönelik Tutum, Kafkas Üniversitesi, Tutum Ölçeği, Yükseköğretim Öğrencisi.
