The aim of this study was to determine prevalence of glaucoma in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).In this cross-sectional study, 186 eyes of 93 patients with OSAS were included. OSAS was diagnosed by polysomnography (PSG). There were 72 males and 21 females. The average age of patients was 50.86±0.10. They were classified according to apnea hypopnea index (AHI) after PSG as mild, moderate and severe OSAS. We performed a complete ophthalmologic examination including the measurement on visual acuty with Snellen, slit lamb, intraocular pressure (IOP) with applanation, measurement with pacymetric of central cornea, gonioscopy, c/d ratio, and evaluation of fundus in all the patients with OSAS. We recorded body mass index of the study population. The visual field examination was applied using central 30-2 SITA SAP with Humprey. The topographic parameters of optic nerve head was evaluated by HRT.The prevalence of glaucoma on patients with OSAS found %5.37. There were two primary open angle glaucoma, two ocular hypertension and one normotensive glaucoma among five patients with glaucoma. We found no significant association between OSAS severity and presence of glaucoma, IOP, and HRT parameters, and visual field indices (p>0.05), however there was significant association between OSAS severity and BMI (p<0.05)Because of the high prevalence of glaucoma in patients with OSAS than normal population, regular screening of patients with OSAS for presence of glaucoma need to be performed for its early diagnosis and management.Key words: Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, glaucoma, apnea hipopne index, Polisomnography.

Bu çalışmada obstrüktif uyku apne sendrom (OSAS) tanısı alan hastalar da glokom prevalansını araştırmak amaçlandı.Bu çapraz kesitsel ç87alışmaya polisomnografi yapılarak OSAS tanısı konan 93 olgunun 186 gözü alındı. Hastaların 72'si kadın ve 21'i erkekti. Hastaların ortalama yaşı 50.86±0.10 idi. Hastalar PSG sırasında apne hipopne indeksine (AHİ) göre hafif, orta ve ağır olarak sınıflandırıldı. Çalışmaya alınan olguların vücut kitle indeksi (VKİ) kaydedildi. Hastaların Snellen eşeliyle görme keskinliği, yarıklı lamba biyomikroskopi muayenesi, Goldmann aplanasyon tonometrisi ile göz içi basıncı (GİB) ölçümü, santral kornea kalınlığının pakimetrik ölçümü, gonioskopi, c/d oranı ve fundus muayenesini içeren tam bir oftalmolojik muayene yapıldı. Görme alanı (GA) muayenesi Humphrey otomatik perimetrisi ile santral 30-2 SITA-Standart test programı kullanılarak yapıldı. HRT ile optik diskin topografik parametreleri değerlendirildi.OSAS'lı hastalarda glokom prevalansı %5.37 olarak bulundu. Glokom tanısı konan 5 olgunun 2'si primer açık açılı glokom, 2'si okuler hipertansiyon, 1'i normotansif glokom idi. OSAS sınıflaması ile glokom varlığı, GİB, HRT parametreleri ve GA indisleri arasında ilişki saptanmazken vücut kitle indexi (VKİ) arasında aynı yönlü bir ilişki mevcuttu.OSAS'lı hastalar arasında glokom prevalansının yüksek olarak bulunması nedeni ile bu hastaların erken glokom tanısı ve tedavisi açısından yakın takip edilmesi gerektiği düşünüldü.Anahtar kelimeler: Obstrüktif uyku apne sendromu, Glokom, Apne-hipopne indeksi, Polisomnografi.
