The aim of this study is to observe the relationship between the charge of caregiving of the relatives of home care patients and to determine their mental health status. This descriptive and cross-sectional study were performed with the relatives of 102 patients who were served from the Home Care Unit of Karabük Training and Research Hospital between September and December 2018 after the necessary permissions were obtained. The data were collected with a questionnaire consisting of 14 questions, General Health Questionnaire-28 and the Care Payload Scale. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test, Spearman Correlation Analysis and post-hoc test Tamhane's T2 test were used. 58.8% of the caregivers were female, 69.6% were married and the mean age was 42.96 ± 13.69. The mean total score of GSA-28 was 5.76 ± 4.07. The caregiving charge of caregivers was determined as medium / advanced load with 51,11 ± 19,86 points. A positive correlation was found between the GSA-28 score and the charge of caregiving score (r = 0.233 p = 0.018). It was found that 54.9% of caregivers were at risk for mental health, and 65.5% were over/overly burden of caring. The age, gender, marital status and occupation of caregivers were found to be effective on the GSA-28 score; the financial problem found to be effective on the status of living, the degree of closeness, and the burden of giving care to the patient's gender. It is considered that it is very important to evaluate the mental health of caregivers and to take measures to reduce the charge of care.

Bu çalışmada evde bakım hizmeti alan hasta yakınlarının bakım verme yükü ile ruhsal sağlık durumlarını belirlemek ve bakım verme yükü ile ruhsal sağlık arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte yürütülen bu araştırma, gerekli izinler alındıktan sonra Eylül-Aralık 2018 tarihleri arasında Karabük Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Evde Bakım Biriminden hizmet alan 102 hastanın yakını ile gerçekleştirildi. Veriler, 14 sorudan oluşan katılımcı bilgi formu, Genel Sağlık Anketi-28 ve Bakım Verme Yükü Ölçeği ile toplandı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, Mann-Whitney U testi, Kruskal Wallis testi, Spearman Korelasyon Analizi ve post-hoc testi olan Tamhane's T2 testi kullanıldı. Bakım verenlerin %58,8'inin kadın, %69,6'sının evli olduğu, yaş ortalaması 42,96±13,69 olduğu belirlendi. GSA-28 toplam puan ortalaması 5,76±4,07 olarak bulundu. Bakım verenlerin bakım verme yükü 51,11±19,86 puan ile orta/ileri derece yük olarak belirlendi. GSA-28 puanı ile bakım verme yükü puanı arasında pozitif yönde zayıf ilişki bulundu (r=0,233 p=0,018). Bakım verenlerin %54,9'unun ruh sağlığı açısından riskli olduğu, %65,5'inin ileri/aşırı derecede bakım verme yükü olduğu saptandı. Bakım verenlerin yaşı, cinsiyeti, medeni durumu ve mesleğine göre GSA-28 puanı üzerinde anlamlı farklılık olduğu; finansal sorun yaşama durumu, yakınlık derecesi ve hastanın cinsiyetinin bakım verme yükü puanını etkilediği bulundu. Evde bakım hizmetinde bakım verenlerin ruhsal durumlarının değerlendirilmesi, bakım yükünü azaltacak önlemlerin alınmasının oldukça önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir.
