The aim of this study is to examine the reasons of loneliness and drinking habits of students studying at different universities in the light of some variables.The population of this study consists of 372 (216 female, 156 male) students from different universities in Ankara studying at 1.2.3.4th grades during 2014- 2015 education year.As data collection vehicles ''Reasons for Drinking Scale'' which has been developed by Cooper (1994) and adopted by Topuz (2004) into Turkish and UCLA developed by Russell, Peplau and Fergusan (1978) and adapted to Turkish by Demir (1989) have been used. Additionally Personal Data Questionnaire has been used to obtain demographic information.This research is based on scanning model. The analysis process of the data obtained in this research has been carried out with SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) package 21.0. Statistical analyses are made after data collection process. According to results of the study there are meaningful relations between the loneliness scale scores of university student's and alcohol-user and non-user groups. Therefore; it has been determined that the loneliness level of the students who consume alcohol is higher than the non-users. With regard to genders of the consumers it has been found that the loneliness levels of the males are higher than females. Key Words: Loneliness, Alcohol, University Students.

Bu araştırmada farklı üniversitelerde eğitim görmekte olan öğrencilerin yalnızlıkları ve alkol tüketme nedenlerinin bazı değişkenler ışığında incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Araştırmanın evreni 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim yılında Ankara'daki farklı üniversitelerde bulunan 1., 2., 3., 4. Sınıfta eğitimine devam eden 372 (216 kadın, 156 erkek) öğrenciden oluşturulmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılan İçme Nedenleri Ölçeği, Cooper(1994) tarafından geliştirilmiş olup, ölçeğin Türkçe adaptasyonu Topuz(2004) tarafından yapılmıştır. Russell, Peplau ve Fergusan(1978) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan UCLA ölçeği Türkçe'ye Demir(1989) tarafından uyarlanmış hali kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmada, demografik bilgileri edinmek amacıyla geliştirilen `Kişisel Bilgi Formu` kullanılmıştır.Bu araştırma tarama modeline dayalı bir çalışmadır. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları ile elde edilen bilgilerin çözümlenmesi SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences) 21.0 paket programı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veriler toplandıktan sonra istatistiksel analizler yapılmıştır.Araştırma sonuçlarına göre üniversite öğrencilerinin yalnızlık ölçeği puanlarının, alkol tüketen ve alkol tüketmeyen gruplar arasında anlamlı ilişkilerin olduğu bulunmuştur. Buna göre alkol tüketen öğrencilerin alkol tüketmeyen öğrencilere oranla yalnızlık düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Alkol tüketen bireylerin cinsiyetleri açısından bakıldığında erkeklerin kadınlara oranla yalnızlık düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur.Anahtar Kelimeler: Yalnızlık, Alkol, Üniversite Öğrencileri.
