This study, entitled `Child Abuse As Social and Cultural Fact in Irıs Galey's` `I Didn't Cry When My Father Died`, Jerry Coyne's `Devil's Child`, and Eylem Tok's `Mihr` was conducted within the framework of comparative literature discipline. The theme of sexual abuse of the child in the works of these three writers from different cultures has been discussed and compared within the framework of studies on child abuse. The aim of the comparison of these three novels around this theme is to reveal in the context of culture and literature that child abuse is a worldwide problem.Sociology, psychology, social-psychology, medicine and legal science about child abuse; He produced theories within the framework of his own disciplines. However, in this study, not only one of these theories has been utilized, but books on child abuse have been used integrally. In addition to these, these three novels were handled within the scientific discipline of comparative literature, child abuse was evaluated as a cultural and social phenomenon with similarities and differences, and references were made to the sources and novels used in places.This work consists of three parts, except the Introduction and Conclusion sections. Introduction section provides information on the main frame of the study, in the first part of `abuse` concept in theory belongs in explaining exploited species and examined novels Germany, mentioned in child abuse cases in the United States and Turkey, the sexual exploitation of children in the second section depicted projections in the world and Turkish literature, In the third chapter, the theme of `sexual abuse, is compared around the themes in these three novels. `Iris Galey'in `Babam Öldüğünde Ağlamadım`, Jerry Coyne'un `Şeytanın Çocuğu` ve Eylem Tok'un `Mihr` Adlı Eserlerinde Sosyal ve Kültürel Bir Olgu Olarak Çocuk İstismarı` başlıklı bu çalışma, karşılaştırmalı edebiyat disiplini çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Farklı kültürlere mensup üç yazarın eserlerinde yer alan çocuğun cinsel istismarı teması, çocuk istismarı konusunda yapılan çalışmalar çerçevesinde ele alınmış ve karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu üç romanının söz konusu olgu etrafında karşılaştırılmasının amacı, çocuk istismarının tüm dünyada yaşanan bir sorun olduğu kültür ve edebiyat bağlamında ortaya koymaktır.Çocuk istismarı hakkında sosyoloji, psikoloji, sosyal-psikoloji, tıp ve hukuk bilimi; kendi disiplinleri çerçevesinde kuramlar üretmiştir. Ancak bu çalışmada, söz konusu kuramların yalnızca birinden yararlanılmamış, çocuk istismarıyla ilgili bu kuramlardan faydalanılarak bütüncül olarak yazılan kitaplar kullanılmıştır. Bütün bunların yanı sıra adı geçen üç roman, karşılaştırmalı edebiyatın bilimsel disiplini içerisinde ele alınmış, çocuk istismarı konusu üç farklı toplumda benzerlik ve farklılıklarıyla kültürel ve sosyal bir olgu olarak değerlendirilmiş, yer yer kullanılan kaynaklara ve romanlara atıflar bulunulmuştur.Çalışma; giriş ve sonuç bölümleri hariç, üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde çalışmanın ana çerçevesi hakkında bilgi verilmiş, birinci bölümde `istismar` kavramı teorik olarak açıklanarak istismar türlerinden ve incelenen romanların ait olduğu Almanya, Amerika ve Türkiye'deki çocuk istismarı vakalarından bahsedilmiş, ikinci bölümde çocuğa yönelik cinsel istismarın dünya ve Türk edebiyatındaki izdüşümleri betimlenmiş, üçüncü bölümde `cinsel istismar` teması, bu üç romandaki izlekler çercevesinde karşılaştırılmıştır.
