In this work, the coursebook and the workbook B1 and B2 blong to these two publications group, Yunus Emre Enstittüsü Türkçe Öğretim Seti and İstanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Seti used in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language, are examined. The subject of the study consists of basic language skills, cultural transmission, reading texts, sub-text questions and standard units within these two books. In this research, not only the reading texts and the types of questions based on the text within these workbooks were determined, but also the cultural elements accompanying the texts were mentioned . The 8 units in the coursebook of the Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Türkçe Öğretim Seti B1 and B2 from the univers of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Türkçe Öğretim Seti and İstanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Seti and the 6 units in the coursbook of the Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Türkçe Öğretim Seti B1 ve B2, 2 units from the set of İstanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Seti B1ve B2 composed 6 sets have been selected. These units selected have been examined in 9 items. Based on the data obtained, the target and types of reading texts in these books, cultural concepts in reading texts, sub-text questions and question types have been taken into consideration. As a result of studying these books, the interview forms have been distributed to teachers teaching Turkish as a foreign language, all informations obtained have been evaluated by classification of similarities and differences. When we look at the works that we examined from a cultural point of view, it has been seen that both books did not give enough space to these issues. However, the education set of Yedi İklim gives a more comprehensive impression compared to İstanbul. In terms of reading texts and sub-text questions, the number of questions in Yedi İklim is more and different than Istanbul. But in both books, the number of open-ended questions that will lead the learner to think is not as much as desired. As reading text types, narrative and informative texts have been given. In Yedi İklim, while both narrator and informative texts are included with poetry, there is only narrator and informative texts in Istanbul book. During the study, considering all these issues, the level of reading texts, how much part of the book covered, whether the text questions are adequate or not, and which question types are used more frequently have been determined and evaluated. Then, as the other stakeholders of the study, referring to opinions of the experts working in the field of language and Turkish education, the problems they faced during the application and their expectations have been mentioned. As a result: In ''Yedi İklim'' and ''İstanbul'' level at B1-B2 used in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language, the reading texts and the findings about the sub-text questions have been evaluated in the framework of a comparison. In addition, the deficiencies identified in both books, the positive and negative aspects of the books are tried to be determined in the comments and suggestions section .

Bu çalışmada Yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılan Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Türkçe Öğretim Seti ve İstanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Seti özelinde bu iki yayın grubunun B1 ve B2 ders ve çalışma kitapları ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın konusunu bu iki metot kitabı içerisindeki temel dil becerileri, kültür aktarımı, okuma metinleri, metin altı soruları ve ünite standartları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma bu ders kitaplarında yer alan okuma metinlerinin, metin altı sorularının, soru türlerinin, özelliklerini tespit etmeye ve bu metinlere eşlik eden kültürel öğelere dikkat çekmeye yönelik olarak yürütülmüştür. Yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminde, okuma becerisinin önemli bir yere sahip olduğunun kavratılması amacıyla görüş ve önerilere yer verilmiştir. Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Türkçe Öğretim Seti ve İstanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Seti evreni içinden Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Türkçe Öğretim Seti B1 ve B2 ders kitabında yer alan 8 ünite ve İstanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Seti B1ve B2 ders kitabında yer alan 6 ünite, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Türkçe Öğretim Seti B1 ve B2 çalışma kitabında yer alan 8 ünite ve İstanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Seti B1ve B2 çalışma kitabında yer alan 6 üniteden oluşan setlerinin içerisinden 2'şer ünite tercih edilmiştir. Seçilen bu üniteler 9 madde üzerinden incelenmiştir. Elde edinilen verilerden hareketle, bu kitaplarda bulunan okuma metinlerinin hedef ve türleri, okuma metinlerindeki kültürel kavramlar, okuma metinlerinin uygunluğu ve metin altı soruları ve soru tipleri dikkate alınmıştır. Ders kitaplarının incelenmesi sonucunda, yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretimi yapan Öğretim elemanlarına görüşme formları dağıtılmış, benzerliklerin ve farklılıkların tasnifi yapılarak elde edilen tüm bilgiler değerlendirilmiştir. Ele alınan eserlere kültürel açıdan bakıldığında, her iki kitabın da bu konulara yeterince yer vermediği görülmüştür. Ancak Yedi İklim öğretim seti İstanbul kitabına göre bu konuda daha kapsamlı bir izlenim vermektedir. Okuma metinleri ve metin altı soruları açısından bakıldığında Yedi İklim'de soru sayısı İstanbul'a göre daha fazla ve çeşitlidir. Ancak her iki kitapta da öğreneni düşündürmeye sevk edecek açık uçlu soru sayısı arzu edildiği oranda değildir. Okuma metin türleri olarak anlatıcı ve bilgilendirici metinlere yer verilmiştir. Yedi İklim'de hem `anlatıcı`, hem `bilgilendirici` metinler yanında `şiir` de yer alırken, İstanbul kitabında sadece anlatıcı ve bilgilendirici metinler bulunmaktadır. Çalışma sırasında tüm bu hususlar göz önünde bulundurularak, okuma metinlerinin hangi düzeyde olduğu, kitabın ne kadar bölümünü kapsadığı, metin altı sorularının yeterli veya yerinde olup olmadığı ve hangi soru türlerinin daha yoğun kullanıldığı tespit edilmiş ve değerlendirilmiştir. Daha sonra çalışmanın diğer paydaşları olarak dil ve Türkçe öğretimi konusunda çalışan uzmanların görüşlerine başvurularak onların bu alanda uygulama sırasında karşılaştıkları sorunlarına ve beklentilerine değinilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılan ''İstanbul'' ve ''Yedi İklim''B1-B2 düzeyindeki metot kitaplarında okuma metinleri ve metin altı sorularına yönelik bulgular bir karşılaştırma çerçevesinde değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca her iki kitapta tespit edilen eksiklikler, kitapların olumlu ve olumsuz yanları görüş ve öneriler kısmında belirtilmeye çalışılmıştır.
