Aim: It is intended to investigate the effect of nutritional status and dietary quality on stress, axiety and depression in adult obese patients.Material and Method: The study was performed between 10.10.2016-04.04.2016. Individuals (n=103) who applied to the Diet policlinic of the Community Health Center affiliated to the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul constituted the sample of the study. A questionnaire was applied to the individuals who participated in the study, including questions about their descriptive characteristics, physical activity, nutritional habits, anthropometric measurements and biochemical measurements. The Mediterranean Diet Score (Med Score) was used to assess the dietary quality and the Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale (DASS) was administered to identify the emotional state of yhe individuals participating in the study. The results were evaluated at 95.2% confidence interval, p≤0.05 significance level.Results: 59% of the participants had low dietary qualities and the mean Mediterranean diet score in the study was 5,1±2,47. The Mediterranean diet score decreased in those who skipped meals and the number of meals was less than 2. BMI values were found to be significantly higher in those with low compliance to the Mediterranean diet (p≤0.05). Depression prevalence was 61%, anxiety prevalence was 76.8%, and stress prevalence was 66%. It was determined that as the score of depression scale increases, the BMI value increases and the score of the Mediterranean diet score decreases (p≤0.05). Stress and depression score and BMI value change in the same direction (p≤0.05). As the anxiety scale score increases, BMI, stress and depression increase; The Mediterranean diet score decreases. As compliance with the Mediterranean diet score increased, LDL cholesterol was found to be significantly lower (p≤0.05). LDL cholesterol was found to be significantly higher in individuals with higher stress level (p≤0.05).Conclusion: Individuals' emotional states are affected by the level of obesity and the quality of their diet.

Amaç: Yetişkin obez hastaların, beslenme durumu ve diyet kalitesinin stres, anksiyete ve depresyon üzerine etkisinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır.Materyal ve Metot: Çalışma 10.01.2016-10.04.2016 tarihleri arasında yapılmıştır. İstanbul'un Arnavutköy ilçesine bağlı Toplum Sağlığı Merkezi Diyet polikliniğine başvuran bireyler (n=103), çalışmanın örneklemini oluşturmuştur. Çalışmaya katılan bireylere, tanımlayıcı özellikleri, fiziksel aktiviteyi, beslenme alışkanlıklarını, antropometrik ölçümlerini ve biyokimyasal ölçümlerini içeren soruların bulunduğu bir anket formu, diyet kalitesinin değerlendirilmesi için Akdeniz diyet skorlaması (Med Score) ve duygu-durumunu tanımlayabilmek için Depresyon-Anksiyete-Stres Ölçeği (DASÖ) uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar %95,2'lik güven aralığında, p≤0,05 anlamlılık düzeyinde değerlendirilmiştir.Bulgular: Katılımcıların %59'unun Akdeniz diyet kalitesinin düşük olup Akdeniz diyet skoru ortalaması 5,1±2,47 olarak bulunmuştur. Akdeniz diyet skoru, öğün atlayanlarda ve öğün sayısı 2'den daha az olanlarda azalmıştır. Akdeniz diyetine uyumu düşük olanlarda BKİ değeri anlamlı derecede yüksek bulunmuştur (p≤0,05). Depresyon prevelansı %61, anksiyete prevelansı %76,8, stres prevelansı ise %66 olarak bulunmuştur. Depresyon ölçeği puanı arttıkça BKİ değerinin arttığı, Akdeniz diyet skorunun azaldığı belirlenmiştir (p≤0,05). Stres ölçeği puanı ile depresyon ve BKİ değeri aynı yönlü olarak değişmektedir (p≤0,05). Anksiyete ölçek puanı arttıkça BKİ, stres ve depresyon artmakta; Akdeniz diyet skoru ise azalmaktadır (p≤0,05). Akdeniz diyetine uyum arttıkça LDL kolesterol anlamlı düzeyde düşük bulunmuştur (p≤0,05). Stres seviyesi ileri olan bireylerde ise LDL kolesterol anlamlı düzeyde yüksek bulunmuştur (p≤0,05).Sonuç: Bireylerin duygu-durumları obezitenin derecesinden ve diyet kalitesinden etkilenmektedir.
