This study was carried out to investigate the effects of parents' attitudes on the symptoms of depression and social phobia. For this purpose, parents' attitude inventory, Liebowitz social phobia symptoms scale, beck depression scale and cage test scores were used. In the study, the parents' attitude is democratic, irrelevant and authoritarian in three dimensions; Liebowitz social phobia symptoms scale was examined in the dimensions of anxiety and avoidance. As a result of the research, it was found that the average of the expressions included in the democratic attitude was 42.87, the mean of the expressions included in the authoritarian attitude was 25.80 and the average of the expressions included in the irrelevant attitude was 22.50. It was detected that the average of the participants' expressions about the anxiety levels was 48.45 and the mean for the statements about avoidance levels was 43.53. Again, it was detected that the participants of the Beck depression scores 17.88. In addition, 30 individuals were found to be 3.10 Cage test scores using alcohol. In the study, it was found that there was no significant difference between the democratic, authoritarian and irrelevant parental attitude scores of the participants in the control and case group. Again, there was no significant difference between the avoidance scores of the participants in the control and case group; A significant difference was found between anxiety scores. Bu çalışma alkol kullanım bozukluğu tanısı alan hastaların anne ve babalarının tutumlarının depresyon ve sosyal fobi belirtileri üzerinde nasıl bir etkiye sahip olduğunun araştırmak amacıyla yapıldı. Bu amaçla, anne baba tutum envanteri, Liebowitz sosyal fobi belirtileri ölçeği, beck depresyon ölçeği ve cage testi puanları kullanıldı. Araştırmada anne ve baba tutumu demokratik, ilgisiz ve otoriter olmak üzere 3 boyutta; liebowitz sosyal fobi belirtileri ölçeği kaygı ve kaçınma boyutlarında incelendi. Araştırma sonucunda, demokratik tutum içerisinde yer alan ifadelerin ortalamasının 42.87, otoriter tutum içerisinde yer alan ifadelerin ortalamasının 25.80 ve ilgisiz tutum içerisinde yer alan ifadelerin ortalamasının 22.50 olduğu saptandı. Katılımcıların kaygı düzeyleri ile ilgili ifadelere yönelik ortalamalarının 48.45, kaçınma düzeyleri ile ilgili ifadelere yönelik ortalamalarının 43.53 olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Yine katılımcıların Beck depresyon puan ortalamasının 17.88 olduğu saptandı. Bunun yanında, alkol kullanan 30 bireyin Cage test puan ortalamasının 3.10 olduğu saptandı. Araştırmada ayrıca kontrol ve vaka grubunda yer alan katılımcıların demokratik, otoriter, ilgisiz anne baba tutum puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı saptandı. Yine, kontrol ve vaka grubunda yer alan katılımcıların kaçınma puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı; kaygı puanları arasında ise anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu saptandı. Son olarak kontrol ve vaka grubunda yer alan katılımcıların Beck depresyon puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı tespit edildi.
