Abstract

In this study, the surface of the Ti6Al4V alloy was coated with ceramic oxide in twodifferent solutions: phosphate-added (MAO-F) and aluminate-added (MAO-A), keeping allother parameters of the MAO process constant. The surface roughness and thickness of thecoatings obtained after the MAO treatment were measured by 3D surface profilometer andEddy-Current method, respectively, and phase compositions and surface morphologies wereanalyzed with XRD and SEM. For the determination of tribological properties, ball-on-discetching technique with alumina (Al2O3) abrasive ball was used under three different loadsof 1 N, 2,5 N and 5 N, under normal conditions and at room temperature.According to the results obtained, rough and porous coatings were formed on theTi6Al4V alloy by the MAO process. The thickness and roughness values of the coatingsvaried depending on the electrolytic solution. The phase compositions of both coatings werefound to consist of anatase, rutile and Ti metal from a small amount of backing material. Thefriction coefficients of the samples decreased with increasing load. The highest frictioncoefficient was obtained at 1 N load value in all samples. It was also found that the wearvolume loss of the MAO-A sample under 1 N load was lower than the MAO-F sample. At2,5 N and 5 N loads, the MAO-F sample exhibited a higher wear resistance than the MAOAsample.

Bu çalışmada, fosfat katkılı (MAO-F) ve alüminat katkılı (MAO-A) olmak üzere ikifarklı çözelti içerisinde, MAO işleminin diğer tüm parametreleri sabit tutularak Ti6Al4Valaşımının yüzeyi seramik oksit ile kaplanmıştır. MAO işleminin ardından elde edilenkaplamaların yüzey pürüzlülüğü ve kalınlığı sırasıyla 3D yüzey profilometre ve Eddy-Current metodu ile ölçülüp faz kompozisyonları ve yüzey morfolojileri ise XRD ve SEM ileanaliz edilmiştir. Tribolojik özelliklerin tayini için 1 N, 2,5 N ve 5 N'luk üç farklı yükaltında, normal şartlar altında ve oda sıcaklığında alümina (Al2O3) aşındırıcı bilya ile ballon-disc aşındırma tekniği kullanılmıştır.Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, MAO işlemi ile Ti6Al4V alaşımının üzerinde pürüzlü vegözenekli kaplamalar oluşturulmuştur. Kaplamaların kalınlıkları ve pürüzlülük değerlerielektrolitik çözeltisine bağlı olarak değişmiştir. Her iki kaplamanın faz kompozisyonlarınınanataz, rutil ve az miktarda altlık malzemeden gelen Ti metalinden oluştuğu tespit edilmiştir.Numunelerin sürtünme katsayıları artan yükle azalmıştır. Tüm numunelerde en yükseksürtünme katsayısı 1 N yük değerinde elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca 1 N yük altında MAO-Anumunesinin aşınma hacim kaybı miktarının MAO-F numunesinden düşük olduğugörülmüştür. 2,5 N ve 5 N yüklerinde MAO-F numunesi, MAO-A numunesine göre dahayüksek bir aşınma direnci sergilemiştir.
