This study assessed four local Egyptian commercial cultivars of faba bean (Misr1,Giza429,Giza716 andGiza 843) as well as twenty faba bean genotypes morphologically during different growth stages (at vegetative, flowering and maturity stages)and chemically using SDS- PAGE. Two field experiments were carried out in Bahtim Research Station, AgriculturalResearch Center, during 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 seasons.Morphological identification was carried out through recording a range of morphological characters as reported in the Internationally Recognized Descriptor of the International Union for Protection of new Varieties (UPOV 2003). Results indicated that differentiation existed between allgenotypes for all morphological characters, except plant growth type, tillering on high node, flower wing melanin spot, stipule spot pigmentation and black pigmentation of hilum.Plant height, branches/plant, pods/plant, seeds/plant, seeds/pod,seed yield/plant and seed index showed significant differences between all genotypes in this investigation. Six of the promising lines (2, 11,15,16,18 and 19) significantly surpassed the check varieties and the other lines in yield and its components.The seedschemical composition analysisshowed that the genotypesdiffered in their composition as follows: protein (from 26.65 to 30.72%.), carbohydrate (from 58.00 to 62.25%), crud fat (from 1.93 to 2.05%.), ash(from 3.00 to 3.35 %.), tannin(from 70.67 to 157.45%), phenols(35.23-51.02 %), moisture (9.15 to 10.45%).The seed storage proteins analyzed by SDS-PAGE and the electrophoresis patterns indicated twenty six polymorphic bands with molecular weights ranging from 226.441 KD in genotypes 3,10 and 15 to 6.542 KD in all genotypes (common band).

أجريت هذه الدراسة بمحطة بحوث بهتيم– محافظة القليوبيه خلال الموسمين الزراعيين 2007/2008 و2008/ 2009 بهدف تقييم وتوصيف عشرون اصل وراثي من بنك الجينات ببهتيم مقارنه بأربع أصناف منزرعه (مصر1،جيزة 429 ،جيزة 716 ،جيزة 843) بإستخدام الصفات المورفولوجيه والإنتاجيه والكيمائيه. حيث تم تحديد الصفات المورفولوجيه المميزة للأصناف تبعا لدليل التوصيف المورفولوجي لمحصول الفول البلدي الصادر عن الاتحاد الدولي لحمايه الاصناف الحديثه (UPOV) . أشارت النتائج الى وجود اختلافات في الصفات المورفولوجيه لكل التراكيب الوراثية المنزرعة ماعدا صفة طبيعه النمو و التفريع على العقد العلويه و البقعتين على علم الزهرة ووجود البقع على الأذينات ولون السرة ، كانت جميع التراكيب الوراثيه متشابهة فيما بينها . اظهرت النتائج وجود اختلافات معنويه في كل الصفات المحصوليه (ارتفاع النبات ،عدد الأفرع/ للنبات،عدد القرون /للنبات،عددالبذور/ قرن،عدد البذور / النبات، محصول البذور/ النبات، وزن الـ 100بذره) لكل التراكيب الوراثيه.أشارت النتائج المتحصل عليها تفوق ستة تراكيب وراثيه رقم 2،11،15،16،18،19تفوقا معنويا عن باقي السلالات والأصناف المنزرعة. اوضحت نتائج التحليل الكيمائي للبذور أن نسبة الرطوبة تراوحت بين (9.3-10.4%) بينما نسبه البروتين تراوحت بين (26.65 -30.72%)اما نسبه الزيت كانت مابين1.93-2.05%)) في حين نسبه الرماد كانت بين(3.00-3.35%) اما نتائج تحليل الكربوهيدرات كانت (58.00-62.25%) بينما نسبه التانينات تراوحت بين (70.67-157.45 ملليجرام/100جرام) أما نسبه الفينولات تراوحت بين (35.23-51.02 ملليجرام/100جرام). كذلك اظهرت نتائج تفريد البروتين ستة وعشرون حزمة مميزة للتراكيب الوراثيه الـ 24 المستخدمه بين 226.411 و 6.542كيلو دالتون،حيث اختلفت جميع السلالات في عدد الحزم والوزن الجزييئ ،بينما تشابهت جميع الاصناف في عدد من الحزم ووزنها الجزيئ. .
