The use of wireless networks has increased significantly in today's conditions. By means of mobile devices, people are able to access and communicate information without depending the fixed devices. Wireless networks are gathered in two classes such as infrastructure and without infrastructure. In infrastructure wireless networks, mobil devices are able to communicate with each other over fixed base station or access points. There has not a infrastructure which is defined before in ad-hoc wireless networks, and all mobile devices are able to communicate with each other how no need to access points. Firstly, ad-hoc wireless networks have begun to be used in military areas where the communication infrastructure was missing or damaged. Subsequently, they have been used in emergency and rescue scenarios, and become widespread using many other areas. Due to dynamic and variable connections in emergency and rescue scenarios during transmitting data packet have been took place problems such as end to end delay, bandwidth congestion, and decrease in packet transmission ratio. In mobile ad-hoc networks where such problems can occur, in case of emergency and rescue, it is crucial essential that the network infrastructure is set up as soon as possible time and that the data are transmited securely to desired destination. In this study, the queue structure of the Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) protocol has been modified and Emergency Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (E-AODV) protocol that prioritizes Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) packets has been developed. With E-AODV, it is aimed to transmit the data within less end to end delay time, and increase packet transmission ratio and throughput. Two different scenarios were created in order to evaluate these metrics in detail and the scenarios have been tested in a simulation environment. The performance of E-AODV protocol has been compared with AODV protocol as well as Destination-Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV) and Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) routing protocols. In both scenarios, it was seen that the proposed E-AODV increased packet delivery ratio and throughput, and decreased end to end delay according to other protocols when the results of simulation were evaluated.

Kablosuz ağların kullanımı günümüz şartlarında çok büyük oranda artmıştır. Mobil cihazlar sayesinde insanlar yerleşik cihazlara bağlı kalmadan bilgiye ulaşabilmekte ve iletişim sağlayabilmektedirler. Kablosuz ağlar altyapılı ve altyapısız olmak üzere iki sınıfta toplanmıştır. Altyapılı kablosuz ağlarda mobil cihazlar birbirleriyle sabit baz istasyonları veya erişim noktaları üzerinden iletişim kurabilmektedirler. Tasarsız kablosuz ağlarda ise önceden tanımlı bir altyapı olmaksızın baz istasyonları ve erişim noktalarına ihtiyaç duymadan tüm mobil cihazlar birbirleriyle iletişim kurabilmektedirler. Tasarsız kablosuz ağlar ilk olarak iletişim altyapısının olmadığı ya da zarar gördüğü askeri alanlarda kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Sonrasında acil durum ve kurtarma senaryolarında kullanılmış ve daha başka birçok alanda kullanılarak yaygınlaşmıştır. Dinamik ağ yapısı ve değişken bağlantılardan dolayı acil durumlarda veri iletimi sürecinde uçtan uca gecikme, bant genişliğinde tıkanıklık, paket iletiminin azalması gibi aksaklıklar meydana gelmektedir. Bu tür sorunların yaşanabildiği tasarsız kablosuz ağlarda acil durum ve felaket durumlarında ağ altyapısının en kısa sürede kurulması ve verilerin kısa süre içerisinde karşı tarafa güvenli bir şekilde iletilmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) protokolünün kuyruk yapısında değişiklik yapılarak Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) paketlerine öncelik veren Emergency Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (E-AODV) protokolü geliştirilmiştir. E-AODV ile verilerin güvenilir bir şekilde daha düşük uçtan uca gecikme süresinde iletilirken, paket dağıtım oranının ve throughput değerlerinin arttırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu ölçütleri detaylı değerlendirmek için iki farklı senaryo oluşturulmuştur ve senaryolar benzetim ortamında test edilmiştir. E-AODV protokolünün performansı, AODV protokolünün yanı sıra Destination-Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV) ve Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) yönlendirme protokolleriyle de kıyaslanmıştır. Alınan sonuçlar değerlendirildiğinde her iki senaryoda da E-AODV'nin diğer protokollere göre uçtan uca gecikmeyi azalttığı bunun yanı sıra paket dağıtım oranını ve throughput değerlerini arttırdığı görülmüştür.
