The aims of the present work are to study the atomic force microscopy ( AFM ) images of Cadmium Tellurid (CdTe) thin films and to calculate the grain size. Image processing techniques have been applied to AFM images (Fuzzy C-means -FCM- and Marker-Controlled Watershed segmentation). Grain size was calculated by applying FCM method directly on thin films prepared, and calculated by applying Marker-Controlled Watershed segmentation with FCM method. The present experimental results were compared with that obtained originally from AFM images.

يهدف البحث الحالي، إلى دراسة صور مجهر القوة الذري (AFM) التي تمثل أغشية التيلورايد الكادميوم (CdTe) الرقيقة وحساب الحجم الحبيبي لهذه الأغشية. تم تطبيق تقنيتين من تقنيات معالجة الصور (FCM وwatershed للتجزئة) على صور AFM. تم حساب حجم الحبيبي من خلال تطبيق طريقة FCM مباشراً على الأغشية الرقيقة المحضرة، وكذلك تم حسابها عن طريق تطبيق (FCM وMarker-Controlled Watershed) معاً. تمت مقارنة النتائج العملية في العمل الحالي مع النتائج التي تم الحصول عليها أصلا من صور AFM.
