يُعد تجسيد الهوية الوطنية التزاماً وطنياً نحو مفردات الهوية وما تتضمنها من مبادئ وقيم تتم ترجمتها من قِبل أفراد المجتمع نحو القيادة والحكومة التي يقع على عاتقها تقديم خدمات متنوعة مقبولة وملموسة لدى الشعب. وتقيس في الوقت نفسه مفهومي الانتماء والولاء لأرض الوطن اللذين يشكلان محورين رئيسين لبناء أي مجتمع يتطلع نحو إحداث التطوير والتغيير في حياة أفراده وفقاً لمتغيرات ومتطلبات كل حقبة زمنية.وتلعب وسائل الاتصال بجميع أشكالها في ترجمة تلك القيم والتطلعات من خلال ما تتميز به تلك الوسائل من مقدرة في التأثير في الرأي العام سواء سلباً أو إيجاباً، إلى جانب استخدام القيادات الحكومية لوسائل الاتصال الحكومي في صياغة الهوية الوطنية، والعمل على تعزيز مقوماتها وتنميتها من خلال باقة متنوعة من الأنشطة والمبادرات. وتحرص دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة على تعزيز معاني ومفردات الهوية الوطنية لدى المواطنين، وذلك من خلال حزمة من المبادرات والفعاليات التي تقوم بتنظيمها مختلف المؤسسات والقطاعات الحكومية، مستخدمة وسائل الاتصال بجميع أشكالها للوصول لمختلف قطاعات وفئات المجتمع.لذا، حيث سيتم تحليل مضمون الفعاليات التي قامت بتنظيمها عدد من المؤسسات الحكومية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة إلى مبادرات تم إطلاقها من قِبل أفراد المجتمع للتعرف على المضامين الاتصالية التي تم استخدامها لتعزيز مفهوم الهوية الوطنية، حيث تمثل مجتمع الدراسة في كل من: وزارة الدفاع، ومبادرة البيت متوحد، وزارة الثقافة والشباب وتنمية المجتمع، ومبادرة حمدان بن محمد للمعرفة الوطنية.

National identity and the national commitment to certain principles and values include the citizens’ loyalty to their leadership and government, which in turn provides the citizens with a variety of services.National identity reflects the concepts of belonging and loyalty to the homeland, which are essential components of any society that seeks to develop and change the lives of its members, according to the conditions and requirements at the time.All means of communication play an essential role in transmitting these values and aspirations by influencing the public, whether positively or negatively. Government leaders use different means of communication to help to formulate national identity. They then work to strengthen and develop components of this identity with a variety of activities and initiatives. The United Arab Emirates works to promote national identity among its citizens with a combination of initiatives and events organised by different governmental institutions and sectors, which use all means of communication to reach individuals and community groups.This study will include an analysis of the content of events organised by government institutions in the United Arab Emirates and initiatives launched by members of the community. The analysis will seek to determine the effectiveness of the communication that the following organisations and initiatives - the Ministry of Defense; the United House initiative; the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development; and the Hamdan Bin Mohammed National Knowledge Initiative - used to promote the concept of national identity.
