الدراسات الميدانية التي انجزت في سنة 1999 في شمال ووسط البلاد مكنتنا من التعرف على 49 نوع من النباتات النادرة و المهددة بالانقراض و كذاللك الاخطار التي اهددها في محيطها الطبيعي . كما تم جمع بذور هذه النباتات و تخزينها ببنك البذور بالمعهد القومي للبحوث الزراعية . بعض من هاته البذور وقع إكثارها و زراعتها بحديقة النباتات للمعهد للمحافظة عليها . كما اجريت دراسات فيزيولوجية , جينية , كيميائية , بيوكيميائية على بعض هاته النباتات النادرة مثل الترنجان Melissa officinalis L , عصا موسى Vitex Agnus castus L و Celtis australis L. و تم نشر نتائج هذه الدراسات في العديد من المجلات العلمية .

Les prospections effectuées en 1999 en Tunisie septentrionale et centrale ont permis d’identifier 49 espèces rares et menacées d’extinction ainsi que les dangers qui les menacent. Une étude écologique des espèces rares dans leur milieu naturel a été réalisée. Les graines de ces espèces ont été collectées. Une partie des graines a été conservée à +4° C dans la banque de graines du Laboratoire de Botanique de l’INRAT. L’autre partie a été multipliée et cultivée dans le jardin botanique de l’INRAT. Des évaluations physiologiques, génétiques, chimiques et biochimiques ont été réalisées sur quelques espèces. Les résultats de ces évaluations ont fait l’objet de plusieurs publications.

Surveys carried out in 1999 in northern and central Tunisia has identified 49 rare and endangered species and the dangers that threaten them. An ecological study of plants was carried out in their natural environment. Seeds of these species were collected. Some of these seeds have been retained at + 4 ° C in the seed bank of the INRAT botanical laboratory. The other part was subjected to a germination study and was grown in the INRAT botanical garden. The other part has been multiplied and grown in the INRAT botanical garden.. Physiological, genetic, chemical and biochemical evaluations were performed. The results of these evaluations have been published.
