يعيش العالم أزمة مالية مصدرها النظام الرأسمالي ، وقد تحولت تلك الأزمة إلى طاعون مالي لم ينجو من ويلاته أحد ، فانتشر ذلك الطاعون المالي ، وإن كان تأثيره يختلف من دولة لأخرى تبعا لدرجة تأثرها بالأزمة، وأصبحت تبعاته من : خسائر، وإفلاس، وبطالة، وهبوط بورصات، وتقلب وتراجع أسعار، وفقر، وركود وكساد تضرب الاقتصاد العالمي في صميمه. وتعتمد مؤسسات الزكاة على جمع الموارد الزكوية من الأفراد والمؤسسات، وتستخدم تلك الموارد لمستحقي الزكاة وفقا لمصارفها الشرعية. والخسائر الناشئة عن الأزمة المالية تؤثر بطبيعتها على ثروات ودخول الأفراد والمؤسسات وهو ما يؤثر على قيمة وعاء الزكاة بالانخفاض، بل ويزيد من الفئة المستحقة للزكاة ، وتلك الإشكالية تبرز مدى أهمية الدور الملقى على عاتق مؤسسات الزكاة في الحاضر والمستقبل، من خلال تفاعلها مع تلك الأزمة بالاستفادة من فرصها ، وحسن التعامل مخاطرها.

The world lives a financial crisis coming from the capitalist system. The crisis turned into a plague, no one survived from its painful effects. Although the impact varies from one country to another depending on the degree affected by the crisis; the consequences are: losses, bankruptcy, unemployment, and falling stockmarkets, and the volatility and declining prices, poverty, stagnation and recession hit the world economy in the core. Zakat institutions collect the zakat funds mainly from individuals and institutions and those funds are used for the beneficiaries of Zakat according to the legitimate recipients. The losses arising from the financial crisis are affecting the incomes of individuals and institutions which affect the value of the Zakat; beside the decline of Zakat value, the beneficiaries of Zakat are increasing. That problem underlines the importance of the roles of Zakat institutions in the present and future, through its interaction with the crisis to benefit from its..opportunities, and good handling of its threats
